i’ve played here many times over the years. Played today and in fairness the course was in pretty good condition. 4 1/2 holes in, we got torrential rain that left massive puddles and flooding on the fairways and greens. This course does not drain well and became unplayable. We waited for him a while and then drove in in the rain. The whole course was heading to the clubhouse. When I got there and ask for a rain check, the staff was incredibly rude and just barked “no rain checks no rain checks no rain checks for anyone “. it turns out they do have a handprinted sign at the check-in desk that says no refunds once your round starts. The course was unplayable. The rain was continuing. There was lightning in the area. But “no rain checks no rain checks no rain checks“ no empathy no apology just rudely barking “no rain checks“ over and over and over and over. If this review is annoying to you imagine how it felt to all the golfers. Be aware this course does not believe in player/customer service. I will not be going back and I do not recommend this course to anybody. There are too many other great options in the region.

I truly do not like to write bad reviews. These guys deserved it. They could’ve handled this better with just even the little bit of effort. But they did not try at all.

also course does not drain well. It does not handle water well. So be aware before you play. Check your weather conditions carefully and frankly, you’re better off booking elsewhere

3 interesting 9a in great condition and a friendly staff at well prices muni? Such a deal. Fun and interesting layouts. Tree lines fairways, plenty of hills and doglegs to navigate. Greens could be faster but would make some holes really tough and slow down play. A worthy muni tracking the rotation!

This is a really fun track and of course conditions were really stellar. The greens were rolling quick and true. Wind can come in to play on many holes. It’s a really high-quality course and a high-quality value. Highly recommended

I very unique design. Conditions were superb. The course played a little soft from water. Rough was thick and juicy. VERY interesting design that makes us want to go back and play again now that we know how to navigate the many blind tee shots and strategy. The pace of play was quick. Fairways and greens in superb condition. Bunkers a little light n sand - seemed like they had been through a mega rainstorm days earlier and survived it well. We will definitely play again (we drove from Manhattan and lots a long haul. 27 hole of very scenic fun golf

Awesome municipal golf experience in the city of New York. The course is a great linksy sort of layout and challenges are mostly due to raised greens on approaches and pretty.interesting undulating greens. The greens roll smooth even tho they look a little funky - nice speed. They could speed these up really fast for a tournament but nobody would be able tp play the course - challenging fun reads.

The facilities are far from luxurious but this is a public golf facility with priorities straight - the course is is highly playable quality condition. Super glad I played it again after a 15 year hiatus and I can't wait to go back now that i know the greens better

A beautiful historic gem.A must play. I guarantee after your first round you’ll want to come back. Beautiful rolling hills and scenic layout. Don’t let the total yardage fool you. This course requires shot making and golf intelligence to score. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly. Course conditions were quite good. A hilly healthy walk. Lot’s of strategy with tight fairways mature trees and well placed bunkers and doglegs. Plenty of blind shots. A true joy to play. Greens could be faster but thankfully they weren’t. That would make this even tougher as greens are small and challenging undulations. I need another crack at this. Can’t wait to play it again.

The course was sin the best shape I've ever seen it. Lush rough and fairways and the greens rolling fast and smooth. Kudos to the groundskeeper and team as well as to the overall staff. The course presents as fair yet challenging. Mistakes get penalized yet if you are playing well a great score is waiting.

Love the layout. Challenging yet scoreable. Don’t play after big rain. Course very slushy. TEE boxes are a shambles right now. Greens were slow post a big rain.

Great layout with some very interesting and challenging holes. Honestly a must play. Bobby Jones played here and liked it so will you. Doesn’t drain super well so watch the rain. Fun fun track.

Overall this is a great track and in great condition. Totally worth playing if you haven’t tried it. Conditions always quality. Pace is good. Greens roll well and true.

Here’s the thing: a few holes are a little wack: #9 straight up a hill. #10 straight back down.aside from#1 and 18 the inner par fives are annoying and tough.

That said some amazingly well designed holes here and always fun track to play

3 Fun nine hole courses. undulating fairways and greens. well designed as it feels easy and then you realize strategy matters. Scoreable tho. Greens were in great shape and pace of play was excellent

So we've played at Pelham Bay ad Split Rock for years. @ quality tracks in the Bronx and part of the City of New York owned golf circuit.

First the positives: overall a well-designed course. Many interesting holes and a nice blend of scorable and tough challenges. The layout is not the issue here. Covid protocol was simple and easy. no drama checking ion and getting out. in fact, that was easier than ever and better than pre COVID.

The challenges: they've given up on the bunkers for some reason. grass growing in all . fairways were OK. Greens here are typically a little soft and slower than most in the area.

If pelham and Splitrock were budgeted for quality greenskeeping and maintenance this would be an amazing facility. Its a shame to let great layouts wither.

There is a lot of good things to say about this course. Very scenic. Some interesting holes. Typically in very good condition. However, some very annoying holes from a design perspective. Specifically all the par fives and a few others. They feel stuffed into available land and are awkward. No practice range. There is a putting green that they allow you to chip on. Way above average for a county course however often more frustrating to play here then joyous

Crooked Cat and Panther Lake are absolutely must play courses. High quality layouts and conditions and exceptional value for your money. A true golfers facility. definitely a must play.

Orange County is one of our favorite golf experiences. :very high quality championship courses. A really fun par 3 course. A massive driving range. Huge putting green. The lodge on site perfect for a serious golf trip. and best of all, this place is all about the Quality golf. and no fake pretentious stuff these courses are as good and even better than most in the area and offer it at a killer value. Play both. A must play in Orlando

Crooked Cat at OCN is a must play in Orlando. We use OCN as an "anchor" point for the rest of our trip. The conditions were excellent. greens smooth and rolling true with good speed. the pace of play was no problem at all. We played Crooked Cat in the morning and panther in the Afternoon with a decent lunch at the clubhouse in between. We live in NYC, are avid golfers, and love this facility. Its no bull - the real deal and high quality at a high value. Way better than almost all the resort courses that charge double. Crooked Cat has some exceptional golf holes (like #12) and super fun holes (like #9) and looks pretty easy but has fangs.... back 9 plays tougher than front for me

Typically this has been in great condition but today I realized this doesn’t drain that well. Tee boxes need work. Fun challenging layout. Great staff. Worthy of a few rounds for sure. Add to rotation

Negatives; Very slow round due to lots of hills and cart path only even though weather supports using carts on course. We were behind two foursomes that were excessively celebrating with alcohol. Not fun.

The course layout is challenging and there are a number of really nice holes. However, many holes here feel poorly designed. Especially the par 5s

so, like many golfers, I am conflicted on Ferry Point. On one hand, I totally love that the city of New York has a high-quality Jack Nicklaus Design course that is close by and quick and easy to get to. The course is in great shape, the design is fun to play, and as long as the wind and fescue are not too high its a proper fun challenge but scoreable. The practice area and putting green is very good. It could use a better chipping practice area. The new clubhouse, restaurant, and outdoor areas are really very nice with great views.

downsides? The name Trump prevents many from wanting to spend their hard-earned dollars here. The greens fees are set up for wealthy corporate T&E accounts and not so much for the average golfer's bank account. The pace of play can be quite slow as the fescue gets tall balls are touch to locate for most, and the course is unforgiving for most average golfers.

If we could somehow transfer to the management contract to a different company and rethink the tee sheet pricing this would be a dream course to have 20 minutes from manhattan.
