Super-fast greens

Course was in great shape. Greens were extremely fast. I lost 4-5 strokes due to approaches running thru the greens, and some three putts due to inability to stop putts on undulating greens. This is absolutely normal here, but I don’t play here enough to “know” the greens on each hole (and adapt accordingly). Frustrating, but it is what it is. Still, all in all, a very enjoyable round, as usual. Recommended!

Fun as usual

Course was fun as usual, and really in great shape. Greens were fast. I had my worst round of the year, but it certainly wasn’t the course’s fault! Recommended!

Fun Outing but a Bumpy Ride

Twin Valley is a fun course to play, with several challenging holes, including two par threes with pretty severe elevation changes (one up and one down). First off, the staff is very courteous. Secondly, the greens were, for the most part, in great shape and rolling true. The fairways, though, were not that fantastic, but for the price this is to be expected. And, as others have pointed out, the front and back nines are quite different--the back nine is full of elevation changes. I almost tipped my cart twice! What stays in your mind about TV Golf Course is the really terrible conditions of the cart paths. They look--almost entirely--like they've been bombed, which made the ride throughout the round pretty bone-jarring. Cart paths aside, I'd still return to Twin Valley for more rounds--it's always a fun outing.

Fun course

White Plains is a fun course to play. I didn’t play well, but the course and staff made this a good time. The only downsides for me were the distance from home (45 minute drive) and the condition of the cart paths (tree roots have made them a mess in spots). Nonetheless, I’ll play White Plains again because the good far outweighs the not so good!

Great Experience

Our first time at Edgewater was a great experience. The staff was wonderful, the course was in excellent condition--greens, tee boxes, and fairways alike. Nice driving range. Pace of play was very good (under 3.5 hours), and the course is visually stunning, with water views. If this course were in a resort area it could easily command $100+ greens fees. Mine (with GolfPass) was under $35! Highly recommended.

Fun Course, but Tough Rough...

A fun 18 holes, though I didn't play particularly well. Greens, tee boxes and fairways were in very good shape. I started at 8:40AM and there was a threesome ahead of me and no one behind me. The threesome moved quickly, and the round was only 3.5 hours. My only gripe with Monroe CC is that the rough is VERY lush--not high, but thick. It's pretty easy to lose golf balls in this stuff, even just a few feet off the fairway, which is frustrating. And it's very difficult to hit out of. But my fault for straying from the fairway! Accurate drives are a must here! Overall, a fun round as usual. Staff is great, too!

Always a fun course…

Decided to walk nine holes. Forgot how hilly Monroe CC is and ran out of steam after six. (Getting old)! But they were six fun holes—course in real good shape, greens especially. Staff is great. This is my go-to course in the greater Charlotte area.

Fun Course with Some TLC Needed

I enjoyed this course. It's hilly with a few flatter holes. The hilliness makes club choices even more important than usual, and it took me a few holes to figure this out. Once I did, I played better and the outing became more enjoyable. The carts have GPS,. with is a definite plus. The pace of play was somewhat slow, but this was because there were a lot of folks playing that day, which is understandable, and patience was required. Staff was okay. Not a big pro-shop, but well organized. Driving range is strictly "mats only." Tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition, but the greens were not. EVERY green needed ALOT of TLC, perhaps even complete ado-over--their condition definitely hampers putting. I assume their very poor condition was due to weather conditions over the season. The layout of the course itself is quite interesting and added to the fun, despite the poor condition of the greens. A few blind drives, doglegs, and uphill and downhill shots. Some tight fairways, lots of little creeks and high, dense grassy areas over which to hit (or into which to lose your ball). Once the greens are restored, this becomes a four-star course, IMHO. At the moment, I would still recommend the course to others, because playing it was a fun and challenging experience.

Lots of fun

This is always a fun course.. some holes are tricky. Most are straightforward and wide-open. The course was a little wet following T.S. Ida. Staff is great. Greens were aerated but otherwise in good shape. Fairways had some bare spots. Overall, tho, it was a fun afternoon at a decent price.

Fun Links Course

I played the course while on vacation, after having helped my daughter move from one apt. to another two days and 300 miles earlier. I was very tired, and wasn't able to get past the 10th hole without conking out. Up to that point, however, I found the course to be a lot of fun, and in great shape, despite recent torrential rains (cart path only, plus driving range was washed out). Miss the fairway and the rough is brutal--high, links-type grass like the British courses have. Greens were in great shape. Lots of water holes. A couple of blind tee shots on front nine. Scenery is terrific. Staff was cordial. Not a bad price, either, for a 'vacation' course. Recommended. Played from the blue tees (should have been the whites, but the other guys I was paired with were shooting from the blues. Peer pressure!) Age: 65.

Fun Day

Played 18 with my son, from the Sr. Tees. Very enjoyable round. Course in great shape, but cart path only due to days of rain. Challenging layout, with a number of blind tee shots. Scenic, hilly course. Nice staff and amenities. Recommend.

Bring your hiking shoes!

Tierra Rejada is the hilly-est--nay, the most mountainous--course I have ever played. But then, it is a canyon course in California! I found the inclines and declines pretty severe--usually two to three clubs worth. Add to this the stiff breezes and you have a challenge on your hands. The greens were fast but fair and the fairways and tee boxes in good shape. The best part for an 80's-90's golfer like me, tho, is the great vistas from on high. Just beautiful!
Staff was terrific, breakfast burrito was awesome, and the round clocked in at just over 4 hours (we were behind a large shotgun group, so four hours was actually good). I played as a single paired with a couple locals who told me that the brush and fauna that capture wayward shots here are home to rattlesnakes, so hit em straight if you play this course! That said, this course has fairly broad fairways--I hit most of them, which is kinda remarkable. All in all, a very nice outing.

Relaxing round--good course for the ego

Compared to the two canyon courses I played during my vacation stay, this course was an ego booster. Essentially, it is a nice Executive-like course with beautiful views. Not the most challenging course, however it was pretty windy on the day I played, which added a bit more difficulty. Greens were in good shape. Course staff was pleasant and helpful. Range was good. Pace of play dragged in spots, but not enough to throw-off your game (assuming you have one, which I really don't). A relaxing round with lots of par potential. Not expensive, either.

Excellent Course; Difficult Challenge

My son (25) and I (60), both high handicappers, played Deerfield on a beautiful summer morning. Course was in great shape (except for one tee box), played at a fast pace, and was quite attractive. Course is EXTREMELY HILLY--don't try to walk unless you're in "iron man" competitions. Most holes are "blind" doglegs. The hills make the par fours effectively nearly fives (we played from the whites). It/s a challenging course, but we feel it was worth it--we had a great time. We had lunch in their pub, and it was excellent as well. Price was very affordable thru GolfNow.com.

Very Challenging and In Perfect Shape

This was my second time at Plantation Lakes. As others have mentioned, it is at present just nine holes, with the front nine scheduled for 2018. However, the nine holes that are open are very challenging, including several par 4's over 400 yards; sloping fairways; lots of water; and deep bunkers. The course is links style. Fairways and greens are in perfect, championship condition--no bare spots or weeds, etc. My only complaint is the lack of easily visible yardage sticks, as there is no GPS coverage yet. There are yardage disks in the ground, but these take time to locate. Also, the par 4's are looong. Driver and long iron/hybrid to reach. Other courses might rate a couple of these as 5's. The 15th hole has much more bunker space than tee shot landing area, and there's a gigantic waste bunker that is nearly impossible to escape--it's a penalty shot. The staff is tops here, from pro-shop to maintenance staff--very friendly. Also, there's an ample number of water jugs over the course for cold water during hot summer rounds! Not a lot of trees for shade, tho. Overall, an excellent experience.

We appreciate you taking the time to comment on the course. We are working on getting more yardage markings done. We did add one at 16 to show where the fairway ends and starts back up. I had the DSGA out to discuss the two long par 4's and they felt they should be 4's. They certainly are a challenge. We look forward to seeing you here in the future.

The usual good experience!

I've played this course many times over past 12 years. Recent changes to certain holes, and an upgrading of the clubhouse--plus a great rate from TeeTimes.com-make this one of the better choices for golf in the area. Great staff--hospitable but not overbearing. Course is in great shape. Really, always a fun experience here, regardless of score!

Great Experience at Rancho Canada East

I played this course as a single in early May on a somewhat chilly, overcast day while on vacation. Course traffic was light, though I did have to play thru two gracious foursomes. The course was in terrirfic shape, though the greens may have been a week or two post-aeration and affected some putts. However, the beautiful scenery more than made up for those! The staff was very helpful and attentive. I wish I could play there more often, but, alas, I'm on the other coast. GolfNow arranged a terrific rate for me ($49 vs $90) while I was in the clubhouse, and I was able to get on the course immediately. I'm completely pleased with my experience at Rancho Canada and with GolfNow.
