Always play this course when visiting Lexington. Very difficult, but I enjoy the challenge. If you don't like hitting over water, stick to the Wildcat course.

Great mix of short and long holes. A lot of risk/reward holes and you need to hit the fairway. Greens are in nice condition with lots of slopes to contend with. If you miss in the wrong spot, saving par will be tough.

Second time to play this course and loved it. It is a great course design with lots of risk/reward holes. Both times that I have played, it has been a little cool and dreary. I can't wait to play when it is a little firmer and faster. The greens are very challenging and strategy comes into play on a lot of the holes.

Overall the course was in really good condition except for the fairway bunkers. The heavy rain early in the spring had messed them up quite a bit. Most of the green side bunkers looked decent. The greens were great and the fairways were a little wet from overnight watering, but dried out quickly (we started early). I always play this course when I go to Lexington and will continue to do so.

The day we played, they were having a golf course superintendents tourney. The Houston Oaks guy was showing off. He had the greens super firm and super fast. It was impressive to see the difficulty that the firm, fast greens brought into the game. I have played there a few times and the greens are always firm and fast, but not like this day. It was a great experience, but very difficult to stop the ball, esp out of the rough. One of my favorite courses in the Lexington area.

Greens were excellent. Overall fairways very good for this year, only a couple with small thin areas from the winter kill. I would play again.

The course has several risk/reward holes with firm, fast greens that are challenging to read. You can find your ball in the rough, but will be penalized for hitting it there. One of my favorite courses to play in the Lexington area.

I have played this course 4-5 times in the last 2 years and it has always been in great shape. The greens are the best in the area. They always are fairly fast, roll true but fair. The course is very challenging with a tee box to fit any level of golfer. It has a lot of risk/reward holes which I like in a course. I look forward to playing it again in the coming year.
