Still needs lots of work

Course is generally improving but still has barren fairways and no grass in rough. Tee boxes and greens were much improved over last time about 8 months ago. Overall ok place to work on some things but play winter tules so you can have SOME grass under the ball

Great Course with Challenging Greens

Had a great round yesterday with friends.Course played a tad slow partially due to High School Regionals being out ahead of us. Greens are very challenging and if you are on wrong part of green a three putt is almost a certainty. Overall very nice course.

Good Layout, Bunkers need Attention

Had a great round here and course was in really good condition with fast greens, great fairways and tee Boxes all in superb condition. The main reason I only gave it 3 stars was the condition of the bunkers. Many had wash outs the sand was inconsistent and overall the maintenance of them was not only lacking but for some nonexistent. We've had a lot of rain lately so that may have contributed but I saw no evidence of anyone working on the course other than one mower. If they up the level of maintenance it would easily be a 4 or 5 star course.

Stay below pins on undulating greens

As always one of my favorite courses in SE Michigan. Terrific greens with speed and slope provide a challenge for even the most experience golfer. My buddy had trouble with the speed and getting the ball in the wrong place on the greens. Above the hole and 3 putts become the norm and the score looks much worse than what you thought you should have had.

Great Little course in an area of few courses

Played this with my wife while on vacation to the North East and was astonished at how few courses were available and the cost of some of them for what you got. This course was a nice little course and the staff friendliness went way above and beyond the norm making for a wonderful round for the wife and I. Lots of elevation changes and course condition was great.

Average Course Possible shooting gallery

This course was very disappointing for my son and I to play. The course is extremely flat and jammed into an area about half of the size it needs to be. If the tee shots are off line you could end up in another fairway tee box or green. Bordered on dangerous at times with the layout. Greens were ok with a couple needing attention and the fairways were not in great shape. Overall I would only return for a great Hot Deal price as I viewed the course as below average especially for one that still desires to be private.

Good course needs rangers to speed up play

Had a wonderful round at this course but no starter to team people up at the tee box. No rangers on course so the round was over 4 and 1/2 hrs long. Course was in good condition but some of the greens had a wide leafed weed problem that needed to be addressed. Over all course was maintained and a nice layout except for 18 which is an extremely hard hole with no fairway inside 100 yds to green. Very tough if you don't boom your drive far enough out because 2nd shot plays uphill with only rough and traps near green. Will return especially if I can get another Hot Deal price.

Requires Numerous forced carries or lay up shots

This course requires long hitters who can easily carry the ball over 200 yds. I had to lay up on numerous holes because a forced lay up over numerous hazards was the only play I had. I normally play 36 - 72 holes in a row without losing a ball. I lost 3 here but they were the result of trying to do too much. The father son duo that I played with lost close to two dozen balls. The course is in a flood plain and you get no roll so the distances that are left are many times too far. I was faced many times with 160 to hazard and 190 to clear. I am a retiree and 200 yd 3 wds in the air were a long time ago. I really can't recommend for retirees or short hitters. Condition was pristine but the greens were a tad hard and very fast with lots of undulations that made for several 3 putts. Had fun but course is very, very challenging.

Greens had been verified with no warning

This is a relatively nice course in the area and I thoroughly enjoyed my round. The only negative was the greens had been recently aerified with no notice from GolfNow. The super friendly lady at the desk asked if the tee time had given the alert and was upset when I said no as she claimed that they had been notified. Played with a member and enjoyed the round in the pm felt like we had the course to ourselves. His local knowledge helped me greatly. I will be back especially if I can pick up another Hot Deal for $11.00.

Great course with lots of elevation changes

This is a must play if you are in the NW Metro Detroit area. It is a bit out of the way but will provide a fantastic day of golf. The course is a par 71 with 5 par threes that are extremely challenging. Take a look at the alternate green on #9 and try and decide what type of score that you would get on it. It is a great track and you will use all your bag here. Have fun

Stay below the holes on the greens or 3 putts are the norm

Course was in wonderful shape for time of year and the greens were very fast which is not a good thing because of the slopes. The pace of play was horrible as they allowed a group of nine to go off as a foursome and fivesome and they all thought they were putting for thousands of dollars. Come on it is April and this course has severe greens that make for some bad putts. There was a storm coming in and we should have easily made it but due to pace of play we got sprinkled on right on the last hole. Need to manage pace of play better and not allow fivesomes. Just make sure to stay under the pins or expect a long day on the greens.

Beautifully maintained course

Played this course on a wonderfully gorgeous day and the course was just as nice. Pace of play was good and the course although very challenging was quite fair if you played the right tees. Had a wonderful time and will go back when I can get a great deal from golfnow as their rack rate is a bit stiff for me.

Not a great course for short hitters

This course has some serious design flaws as it plays way too long to be senior or women friendly. It has one hole on the back nine that most women would become frustrated with as it has a forced carry to the green from end of fairway at 130 yds. Even the gold tees play over 6000 yds. It has some short par 5's and then throws almost 400 yd par 4's at you. The greens were ok but the overall condition was lacking. Better than two yrs ago but still needs work. Probably won't be back unless they make it more friendly for shorter hitters. The starter will tell you that if your average drives isn't 250 or more you need to play the golds not the whites. The blues are almost 7000 yds.

Course needs vast improvement

Played this course not expecting much and that is what I got. Very little grass anywhere on the course so it must be played with lift clean and place or you will be hitting off bare ground all day. Greens weren't horrible but I've seen much better. They too were relatively sparse on grass as I don't think the overseed was done very well. Played with a guy who told me how much it has improved in the last couple of years and I can only think it must have been terrible at some point. Still it is an okay course to go work on some aspects of your game, just don't expect real good conditions. I will give it another chance in the summer to see if the Bermuda is thicker during the growing season than the winter.

Challenging Central Florida Topography on course.

The Course has some great elevation changes that will certainly challenge all skills of players. Course conditions were great but pace of play was a tad slow but some of that was due to some very difficult holes. All in all I had a fun day but the rack rate for the course is very high for the area. It did have a beverage cart but sodas were in cans which is never a good thing on a golf course. I would imagine at the wrong time of year bees would be a problem. I mentioned to the staff that bottles are a much better choice for soft drinks but don't think they understood. Still I will be back.

Typical Central Florida Course

The course is ok it needs a little sprucing up but thats mostly clubhouse parking lot and bar. The staff made a point of telling us no fivesomes were allowed and then on the back nine we ran into a five some that held us up for last 4 holes. No rangers on course to control pace of play and monitor groups. Overall not a bad course but don't pay more than 30 to play or you will feel as if you didn't get your moneys worth. Greens were in ok condition and so were tee boxes and fairways.

Poor Greens

This is the 4th time I have played this course in the last 3 years and the problems with the greens have not been fixed. Many greens have multiple patches and bare spots. For $80 some dollars this course is way overpriced due to the sad state of its greens. Course design and playability are fabulous, it is picturesque and fun to play. Unfortunately some of the greens are overly contoured to the point that uphill or downhill putts were impossible. Then the overall condition of the greens was very poor, although they were relatively smooth the patches and bare spots made them unsightly and detracted from the overall experience. Price needs to be cut in half to even be in consideration to be a reasonable price until they solve their green problems.

Your comment is appreciated and we understand your concern. Our greens had a difficult transition from the overseed and we are making strides to improve the course by renovating multiple greens for your future enjoyment. We like to be upfront about the conditions so there are course alerts with notes on all tee times booked through GolfNow and our website. We also understand the greens are holding us back from being a 5-star facility, so we are working diligently to be back to our standards by July. We hope that you will give us another try soon and we look forward to your next visit.

Fantastic Greens

This course is a real gem in the Ocala area. Has a nice practice facility and is well organized to maintain speed of play and team you up with other people. The greens on this course were the best I've seen in Florida at this time of year. Very true without being lightning fast. All in all a great place to enjoy a day of golf. Highly recommend to others to play.

Great elevation changes

Course was in great shape and enjoyed my round. My only complaint would be every long par 4 seemed to be routed up the hill instead of down. Tough on the shorter hitters especially the 400 yd par 4 straight uphill. Could use a couple new tee boxes or reshuffling of how they are used as the yardage choices go from over 6000 yds to 5000 with nothing in between which is not desirable for an area filled with older golfers.

Lots of water hazards

A very picturesque course requiring accuracy in all phases of your game. Bring your Sky Caddy so you know how far the hazards are and plan your strategy carefully. This is not a bomb and gouge course as hazards are too close to get away with that style. Greens were in fair condition but the entire course had been over seeded so rough conditions were same as summer. Enjoyed my round and will return.
