The Club At Viniterra
Played On 07/19/2023Best course in the Richmond Williamsburg area. Maybe best in the State
This Rees Jones course is in perfect conditions and the greens are extremely fast. There are no tricked up pins. The course plays fairly from the chosen tees I am a senior playing Gold and I can usually hit my handicap number.
The fairways are wide. If you hit it out of the fairway you just hit a really bad shot. I really dont care to play anywhere else.

This course is well run but it is hard to overcome poor greens. There are large bare spots in he greens covered by sand. I think the pricing should be adjusted more for this.
Barony at Port Royal Golf Club

I have been playing Barony for 35 years and it never disappoints. They had just aireated the greens so that was the only downgrade. It is a great test of golf from any tees. I shot near my handicap despite the greens.
Palm Beach National Golf Course

The clubhouse needs upgrading badly but they are getting so much play I don’t think they care. The course itself was in great shape as long as you are in the fairway. No extra frills though as far at landscaping.
Eagle's Pointe Golf Club

The greens were a little slow and did not match the speed of the practice green. Traps were full of water from the heavy rains. Fairways were lush and roughs were tough to get out of.

Oyster Reef Golf Course
Played On 02/24/2020Great layout. Plenty of room. wide fairways. If you miss one you just hit a bad shot.
Oyster Reef is one of our favorites on Hilton Head.

Rose Hill Golf Club

This golf course has come a long way. I remember it from years ago and it was usually wet and sloppy. The drainage is now perfect. A few greens were having problems and they were slow but I expect this this time of year here.
They are renovating the clubhouse.
I think it is the best value on Hilton Head right now.
Jupiter Dunes Golf Course

I was disappointed to find out I had paid for a regulation course and was on a par three course.
Dolphin Head Golf Course

This course was private for most of its history so it is a treat to play it. No forced carries from the senior tees though accuracy is needed. The course never went dormant this winter and the grass is in great shape.
We regret the transition from winter rye grass to the summer bermuda on the greens has been extremely slow and difficult. Drought & higher than normal temperatures have exacerbated the slow transition. Aerification has helped and the green fee has been substantially reduced.
