Great layout. Friendly staff. Elizabeth is awesome. It’s a 5+ hour round, but that is the state of public courses nowadays during peak times.

It’s not news that most/all public course in LA/OC are going to crap. I’d imagine most will close soon or be bought for pennies on the dollar by a conglomerate. That said, Angeles is still hanging on. Great staff, great greens, and great layout as usual. Fairways could use some attention.

Green were in great shape, but that’s about it. Scheduled a tournament on a Sunday morning?? Guys, if you can’t fill the tee sheet on a weekend, and need to schedule a tourney, they’re may be bigger problems. 5+ round with a 12pm tee time is just not upholding what USGA is trying to do with shorter rounds. Need some Marshall out there enforcing pace of play and perhaps some rules on tee boxes based on handicaps. Fairways were hard-pan which was surprising with all the recent rain. Rustic Canyon is about the only place left to play in Moorpark area in my opinion. Hope it gets better guys.

Always enjoy this place, especially when we get the round for <$100. Challenging (135 slope from Blues), and staff is always great.
Carlton Oaks Lodge & Country Club

142 slope from blacks, 135 from blues. This place is tough and great layout. If they could just clean up the rough and bunkers, this place would be completely legit. Replayed for $30, and enjoyed all 36 holes!
Westridge Golf Club

For $40 in the middle of the week, I saw a lot of value. Almost 7,000 yards and 135 slope from back tees is not a muni goat ranch in my book. Of course, no one repairs divots on greens or rakes bunkers, but that kinda goes with the territory. Fairways could use some attention, but good greens and some pretty holes. I will be back.

Angeles is a good track, but pushes its value proposition slightly for $125 for an average round. However, for $50, value heavily outweighs cost. Would play there every day at that price if I could! Thanks Angeles and GN!
