Arroyo Golf Club
Played On 02/27/2019Course looks cool, that’s about it
This course, being the public arm of a 36 hole public/private facility seems to truly show that it the red headed stepchild of this family. The course is visually appealing but the greens were easily the worst of the 5 courses I’ve played in Vegas. Pock marks on every green and slow. The tee boxes were were in really poor shape with tons of bare spots and non golf grasses growing in. They mentioned that a recent snow may have caused some of these issues, but overall was not impressed with the golf side of things. The views were incredible, though. Rental clubs are FIFTY dollars here without even the faintest suggestion of a single golf ball to go with those clubs. If we want any golf balls that’ll be $75 for rentals, sir. Lastly, the drives between many of the holes are just absurd. It’s like the architect for the course wanted to get as many houses listed as “on the golf course” so some holes are 1/3-1/2 a mile from green to the next tee.
La Cantera Resort - The Palmer Course
Played On 06/06/2017Excellent everything
I played by myself today and Bud was the starter. He took the time to explain a couple of the blind tee shots on the course. That's extremely telling of how great of service you'll receive playing this course. Even for a native south Texan, the wind combined with elevation change really works your yardages in a big way. Will definitely be back for more.
