Wonderful Course - Marred by Slow Play

This is an excellent course with a wonderful layout. Very challenging requiring attention to shot making and ball positioning. Good for all types of golfers. Greens were extremely fast so please stay below the pin!! Sand traps were well manicured with consistent texture! Stern were efficient but not overly friendly. The club house is. Dry good. Loved playing course but there were a few down sides that took the edge off an other wise terrific golf outing. Sandwiches from the turn (which we conveniently ordered ahead) were stale! And 5.5 hours to play a round is way too long!!! Not a Marshall to be seen. Shame.

Excellent Valur

This certainly would be considered a hidden gem. Several interesting hole layouts. Premium on putting the ball in play and in the right location. A couple of holes with forced long carries. Greens relatively fast. Fairways in good shape overall. Worth the 40 minute drive!

Combo - links and woodland

This course is carved out of old farm land. The owner have done an very good job of creating a playable golf course. The fairways are fairly generous. There are two or three bling tee shots - however of you read up on the course prior to playing this will not come as a surprise. Your target lines are outlined. The rough is fair however if you drive really wind the airfield will make it difficult to find your ball. The greens are generous and very receptive. They are well maintained and have good speed. Shots short of the green will be gobbled up by the longer grass. Staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend playing this course for a fun round. The course is very walkable however there are two holes where it is a trek from green to the next tee.

World Class

This is a world class golf resort and spa! From the time you drive through the gates everything is first class. Thesis a Graham Cooke designed course and bears the familiar rolling dunes. Very few level lies. The course itself is in immaculate condition. Fairways are generous and intelligently bunkered. Greens are generous, well contoured and very fast. An excellent test of golf. Well worth a visit and highly recommend!!

Not impressed

While a number of significant provincial championships have been played on this course, overall I was not impressed. Fairways and greens were in good shape and the greens held the ball well. Greens were moderately fast. What took away from the enjoyment of the course were the number of blind shots - both from the tee as well as into the green. For a player who only plays this course occasionally this would prove disconcerting and make the round more challenging (and longer) that it need to, especially if not playing with a member. There si not much of a difference between tee boxes making the course even more challenging for those wanting to play off the forward tees. Doubtful if I would drive the 90 minutes to play again.

Great Community Course

This executive 18 hole course is perfect for honing your short game. It is only 15 minutes from downtown Halifax which makes it extremely convenient and easy to work a round (either 9 or 18) into a hectic schedule. There si a good mixture of mid and short par 3's with 3 or 4 challenging par 4's. Eddy to walk. Well worth the visit.

Solid Trek

Cut though the woodland this 27 hole layout provides a scenic round of golf. Depending on the 9 hole combination you get different perspectives. The greens are of fair size and hole the ball well. Fairways are generous but you need to position your ball correctly to be able to take advantage of pin positions. Greens are moderately fast.Current irrigation projects have caused some rerouting which takes away from the overall playing experience.

Fun Round

If you are passing through the Santee area this is a great place for a quick and enjoyable round of golf. The course is right off the I-95 so it is easy to get to. The fairways were in average condition and the greens were similar. Greens were moderately fast and ran relatively straight. There are no 'gimmick' holes - what you see is what you get! Just a fun and easy place to play. Staff were very friendly and no reservations are needed.

Friendly family track

This is a fun place to relax and enjoy a game of golf. The front nine Is relatively open and easy to play and find any wayward tee shot. By comparison the back nine is tight. Keep the driver in the bag. The course places short - only 6400 yards from the back tees. Greens are small but fast. Trouble is all at the back of the greens. There is some sand it nothing to protect the front of the green so run up shots are available on virtually every hole. There is lots of elevation changes resulting in some nice views. Normally play one less club than you think you need. Staff very very friendly and helpful. Even though we played on a Sunday morning we were a till able to complete the round in just over 4 hours. This is a nice track for a y type of golfer.

I would recommend for a relaxing fun game.

Good value

Fr the average golfer this is a fun place to play. The pace of play was done for a Sunday game - 4.5 hours - with relatively few delays on the holes. The course was in relatively good shape as it recovers from a difficult winter. The front nine is reasonably wide open but the back nine is tight. You need to keep the ball in the fairway on the back none. The greens are fast and you need to take less club than you think. Most of I the holes allow you to run the ball up to the green. Trouble is always at the back of the green. Not a long course, it poses a challenge for most golfers. Good for a fun day of golf. Great value.

Solid choice

Located approximately 50 minutes from Nashville, Greystone is located in scenic Dickson. Take the 96 highway to enjoy the rural sights. We were greeted most pleasantly and all the staff for the rest of the day were equally as pleasant. The course was in very good shape. The fairways were rolling and the greens were firm and true. The green speed was excellently. This was my first time playing the case and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Make sure you stay to the right of the rock on #17. The wind was up so judge yr club selection accordingly! Enjoy.
