We decided to play Whitlebay GC on the spur of the moment and altho it was raining when we set off, it meant the course was completely empty and it did dry up and we enjoyed a relaxing round of golf. Some members in the club house were very friendly as were the green staff at the end of the round.

Loved the layout and the wildlife, testing golf without being unnecessarily punitive.

This is the second time we played this course and don't know why, the staff with the exception of Flo (bar staff) were abrupt and unfriendly, the range net is a useless test of driving ability and the course is too punitive with the out of bounds markers in front of the houses which to my mind encroach dangerously close to the course, in the stiff wind which was blowing yesterday it was hard to control the ball anyway and so the fear of putting it through someones window was an added risk. And one of our playing partners nearly did giving the owner a nasty shock.

We have played 7 courses in Naples and this is the best so far ; memorable holes, excellent greens and interesting but not too punitive use of water features. Plus the great company of our playing partners from Minnesota !

A friendly staffed course with good practise facilities a well timed pace of play, tricky greens card wreckers!
