You can tell that all the course maintenance is paying dividends. The fairways are plush and the greens are smooth and running true. They’re still spreading bark mulch in some areas but that should be finished soon. Overall, I’m very impressed with the course conditions. It is in pristine condition. Keep up the good work. Great job to the maintenance staff.

Still wish they had a walking rate (which prevents me from playing there more.)

For the past 10 years, my regular group and I have played the vast majority of our annual rounds (20 out of 36) at Sterling Hills. As many have mentioned, the prior owner neglected some basic course maintenance issues and it fell into a state of disrepair.
It was wonderful to see the improvements made by the new owner when we played on 25 May. One can easily see that a concerted effort is being made to get it to the standards it once had. I saw more maintenance personnel, new equipment, a greener driving range and spruced up perimeter areas to name a few. Please keep up the efforts; I applaud you for putting the shine back on this gem of a course.
My only knock is their "all inclusive" rates. Most all courses in the county have a walking rate, a senior rate and a few even offer a military rate. You get none of these options at Sterling. Prior to the new ownership, the rate was $27 to walk (and I also had a Players Club card which got an additional $10 off my green fess.) I prefer to walk when I play so I'm not keen on paying for a cart that I don't use. I understand this pricing ploy to attract new customers. However, there are many other choices within a 30 minute driving range that offer better value for the money. I'd like to keep Sterling Hill in our playing rotation but not at this price.
