Brown's Run Country Club
Played On 08/06/2020Old School CC
Great old school country club that would be easy to walk. A little slow play but still finished inside 4 hours. Greens in great condition. Fairways and tees a little rough on some holes but really well worth the drive due to layout. I will play again.
Stonelick Hills Golf Course
Played On 02/24/2017Good layout
Nice easy par 4 to start out and then the course narrows from there. To play well you will need to bring your accuracy off the tee.
Good amount of varying elevation changes throughout the course.
The 9th hole has a great island green. Manageable par 5's that allow for you to go for the green in two.
Good overall course but I could see the daily rate being a little too high. Seems to have a good amount of members that play daily.
Bent Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2016Interesting layout!
If your in town looking for a interesting layout with horrific course conditions then golf here. Only golf here with a hot deal! Very tight fairways on the back nine. Elevation changes with required lay-ups off the tee on the back. The front is more open but water will come into play a lot from either the tee or 2nd shot. Better options in the area for a little more money but if everywhere else is booked then this course will be open. Never saw more than 3-4 groups golfing the entire weekend. Would not play here again, probably just rather not play if this was my only option! Bring super bug spray!
Miami Shores Golf Club
Played On 07/21/2016Nice Course
A decent course that is fairly simple and straight forward. Good course to practice your game. A small amount of water comes into play. Course is fairly busy, i was placed in front of a league atleast when i played. To sum up the course, it would be a driver-wedge type course. Will play again.
Coyote Preserve Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2016Mr. Palmer designed a great layout!
The first and most important thing is that the course is in great shape and has a layout to challenge every golfer. Multiple tee boxes for every level of golfer.
From the tips I was able to make six birdies, so there is a chance to score on this challenging course.
The next important thing is pace of play was great even on a busy week day. Course was filled with foursomes and only caught two groups (that let me play through thankfully) and still managed to finish in 3 hours.
Overall the course has tight fairways with some tricky greens. Long par 3's that require your misses to be close to the green. Good luck getting home in two on the par 5's. Well thought out course from tee to green. Watch out for those fairway bunkers!!
Drove 2 hours to play here and it was well worth it. Nice driving range near the clubhouse. Would play here again!!
Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
Played On 06/30/2016Good layout
This course is on the shorter side but has the tight fairways to keep you honest off the tee. The layout is pretty awesome because of the doglegs and elevation changes. The fairways are not wide and lined with tall grass that may eat your golf ball. Pace of play is on the slower side due to the amount of people looking for their now lost ball and the large volume of golfers. It is a great course and worth the 1 hr. drive.
Reid Park Golf Club - North Course
Played On 06/24/2016Great course but...
Love playing here because the layout is different in comparison to other local golf tracks. Has a good mix of easy scoring holes and good luck making par. Conditions are good for a public course that receives a fair amount of play. Greens were rolling well. Pace of play is horrendous and we skipped four holes just to get under the 4 hour mark. Worth playing even with the slow play aspect. Will play here again!
WestWynd Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2016Holy Smokes!
This course is amazing, course conditions and challenging layout. Starts out with a par 5 that you have to split two bunkers off the tee if you want to reach the green in two. First time playing here and it was well worth the 2 hr. drive. Long par 5's and par 3's will challenge the best golfers. Good amount of elevation changes throughout the course. Pace of play is not bad since the greens fee is a bit higher but a fair amount of people out golfing. Would play again if the course was closer! A must play!
Red Hawk Run Golf Course
Played On 06/16/2016When the wind blows!
The course conditions have improved over the last 5 years. Other than slower than normal greens, it is at the best I have seen it in 10 years. I play here about 15 times a year and enjoy every round. Multiple tee boxes to allow anyone to find the right yardage off the tee. I never play the tips for the only reason that number 3 is a par 3 all carry from about 210 yards over water. Great mix of short and long par 4's. This links style course is extremely challenging when the wind blows. The par 5's can be reached in two from the proper tee. Overall great course layout with good conditions will make you want to play here again.
The Woods at Possum Run Golf Course
Played On 06/10/2016Short course with good elevation changes!!
From the back tees it is only 6000 yards but the course will challenge you with elevation changes and doglegs. The staff was extremely nice and the clubhouse has amazing food! The greens were extremely smooth which allowed me to make some really nice putts. The only negative I have about the course is the greens are hard causing some big first bounces on approach shots (could be just lack of skill on my part). First time playing here and got a little confused on the layout and where the next hole was and how to get to the next tee box. Good short course with fairly big greens! Would play here again.
Heather Downs Country Club
Played On 06/07/2016Old School Favorite
This is my 2nd favorite course in the Toledo area behind Ottawa Park. Fairly simple course but challenging enough with the wide open areas on the front nine and the wooded lined back nine. Holes 4-6 have some nice elevation changes that will challenge every skill level. Good mix of slight dog legs and straight holes. The overall course conditions are the best I have seen them in the last five years. Really a joy to play here!!
Chippewa Golf Club
Played On 05/23/2016Not very long but worth the drive.
I like playing here to work on my wedge game. The course is not very long but you get to hit different clubs of the tee. Pace of play was awesome, play 18 in less than 2 hours. The par 3's are long, most around 200 yards. Par 5's are reachable in two if you bomb it off the tee but each green is guarded by a creek. The overall condition is good and worth the hour drive.
Majestic Springs Golf Course
Played On 05/21/2016The layout is awesome
The course starts out with a simple/short par 4 that is slightly downhill. The challenge begins on hole 2 with two different landing areas that are short and tight, lined with trees. This theme keeps up with the holes having either trees or long fescue guarding the rough. A good amount of elevation changes, few blind tee shots and lovely greens that roll nicely. May want to either bring your A game or a few extra golf balls. Love the challenge this course brings. Play can slow a bit with people looking for their lost golf balls and the course is usually packed all day.
Pike Run Golf Club
Played On 05/19/2016Great Course
I booked through golf-now for 10 people and the course allowed us to all play together in two five-somes. We allowed the few people that caught up to us to play through. The course starts off with a long par 5 with a semi-blind tee shot. Nice short par 4's filled in between the par 5's. Greens in good condition, holding long and short irons. Most holes are straight but there is trouble is you spray your tee shot. The back nine requires a little more thought off the tee with picking something other than driver for the long hitters. Good mix of holes that have a little trouble and others that are easy. Played here many times and the course is busy but not usually packed.
Lakes of Taylor Golf Club
Played On 04/20/2016Good layout
This course has a mix of long par 5's and shorter par 4's to give you a chance to post a good score. Decent amount of water comes in to play, which adds to the scenic valve of this course. Drove about an hour and half to play here and it was worth it. Decent pace of play but did get slowed down by a twosome. They have a nice big practice area. Would play here again.
Whitmore Lake Golf Links
Played On 04/11/2016Lovely greens!
This course is on the shorter side with maxing out a 6200-6300 yards but still a nice challenge. The greens were rolling smooth! The scenic views and wooden bridge cart paths are special. One hole uses artificial turf from the middle of a bridge as the location for the tee box. I drove an hour and half to play here and it was worth the drive. Had the entire course to myself teeing off at 10:00. Gravel road to the golf course, just as a heads up not to wash your car before golfing here.
Kings Mill Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2016Course Layout!!
I think the course layout will challenge anyone to hit every club in the bag and makes you think off the tee (if you want). Only one Par 5 on each nine and the second Par 5 is a challenge if you have never played the course before. Number 3 was my favorite hole and number 12 was my least. Number 3 is a lovely downhill par 3 with a brand new wooden bridge behind it, (looks amazing from the tee). Number 12 is a downhill par 4 that I just struggled with (narrow fairway).
Course conditions are average plus. The maintenance dogs are not to be messed with; they will run at you and bark. Not friendly, as a local golfer told me, have an iron in your hands at all times when the dogs are out.
Would play again if the Delaware courses are busy but would not go out of my way to play here. Not horrible but just not what I prefer.
Chapel Hill Golf Course
Played On 12/30/2015Play from the back tees!!
There is a very long par 3 ranging out to 240 yards from the tips!!! A lot of elevation changes that make picking the correct club a little tricky. The club house has a great memorial for Ohio Veterans. Great layout with challenging par 5's that will challenge you with hazards and length. Would love to play again when it was not as muddy and earlier in the summer. Worth the two drive for me!
Walden Ponds Golf Club
Played On 12/29/2015Great Layout!
Played here about 6 years ago and glad to see that not much has changed! The course is in great shape for this late in the year! The layout is somewhat challenging but not going to beat you down. Houses around the course and some new house construction may come into play off the tee. Got stuck behind a foursome that would not allow my twosome to play through. Their reason was " there is a twosome in front of us". Never saw this twosome and those three groups were the only ones out playing at that time!! Would play again because I enjoy the layout of this course! Helps when you shoot 79!
White Pines Golf Course
Played On 12/16/2015Back 9 is worth it!!!
This golf course usually has horrible pace of play but this time i was able to make it around in 3hr after getting paired up. The last time I played here, I left after the front nine took 3 1/2 hours to play.
The front nine is the easier of the two nines. Short par 4's and 3's. Decent length for the Par 5's. Tree are your only real hazard on the front.
The back has some water and forced carries to deal with. Much more challenging golf on the back nine. Would not play here very often due to pace of play issue.
This is exactly the way it was. Our tee time was at 2:48, and we didn't get to tee off until 3:15. We were done with the front 9 at 5:55.
