The Nayar Course at Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit-Vallarta
Played On 03/13/2016Good resort course
A good resort course with a few quirks. First off it's a long cart ride (5-10 minutes) from the clubhouse to the driving range and first hole and then an equally long ride back in. Some of the ride is a bumpy dirt and rock path and the rest over existing holes that others are playing. There are also a few long rides between holes. Very good grass range, putting green and short game area. The course has undergone many changes due to the resort's expansion. Currently there are six par 3's on this par 70 layout. There are many good holes on the course and the greens are multi tiered which can cause some very interesting putts if you hit it in the wrong spot. Fore caddies are mandatory but they do a great job to keep the pace moving ($57 USD per foursome). Both rounds I played there were 4 hours. Course was mostly in very good shape with the exception of some worn areas due to cart traffic. Lots of roll on the fairways. Greens were a good speed. Great restaurant next to the pro shop serving breakfast lunch and dinner. There is also a food truck at the driving range.
Doral Golf Club, The
Played On 10/21/2015Nice course
Fun and challenging 9 hole course with lots of water, bunkers and mounds. Greens, tees and fairways were very nice. Bunkers need more sand as they were firm and had many pebbles in them that end up on the greens. Greens have a lot of slope so you need to hit it to the right spot. No walking allowed. Good size practice green and also a practice bunker. Full length driving range hitting from mats, but range balls are expensive, $10 for 30 balls.
Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Meadow/Lake Course
Played On 10/11/2015Best true public course I've ever played
This is by far the best public course I've ever played. Absolutely amazing bent grass tees, fairways and greens and good bunkers. Exceptional large double ended driving range hitting from grass. Great challenging layout with multiple tee options. Can't say enough good things about this place. Well worth the 1:40 drive for me. Somerset County built a fantastic golf facility that should be duplicated everywhere.
Twisted Dune Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2013Natural setting
The course is formed from the natural setting with bunkers cut into or built up from the sand dunes. A few holes with water but the fairways are generous. Large range, grass tee was being redone. Separate chipping and putting greens. Locker room available.
Ballamor Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2013Nice modern course
Nice modern course. Large grass driving range. Very good condition. Nice clubhouse and locker room. Played the last hole in the dark as the pace of play was slower then the 4:22 they make a big deal about on the carts. Rangers did nothing to move the slow group along. A loud outing was a few groups ahead and was disturbing at times. Lower the price, lower the class.
Richter Park Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2013Overrated and overpriced.
For what they charge the conditions should be better. Sure there are a couple of nice par 3's over water but the par fives are dull and all the curved holes play left to right. There are many other courses in this price range I would rather play.

Former private club. Nice greens, grass driving range, very good fairways and tees. Don't like the bunker sand. Tee marker colors don't match up with scorecard. Good restaurant in the newly renovated clubhouse.
