Foothills Golf Club
Played On 02/01/2023A nice AZ desert Course set in an an appealing mountainous setting.
This course with it’s mountain vistas rewards shots landing in the fairways but can seriously penalize errant ones. Course is in good condition for winter golf. Price to play was very reasonable compared to other comparable courses in the Phoenix area.
Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club
Played On 01/28/2023Good course for +100 hdcp players
This course was crowded when I played it on a Saturday. There was an hour frost delay so pace of play was affected by that. Good news is greens were in very good shape for the most part. Fairways were playable for the most part but the rough was abysmal. Even extend into large bare spots on the fairways. If you are from a part of the US where golf is simply not an option in January, and you want to play regardless of course conditions for a relatively inexpensive price, you might consider this course.

Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 02/02/2022An average review tempered by the winter season
I might have given this course a higher overall rating had I played it earlier in the fall or possibly the spring. The roughs and the fairways I would consider an average condition. This may have been do more to seasonal conditions versus course management. While there’s not a lot of trouble on the fairway, the greens are surrounded by massive bunkers that require better than average finesse and getting out of. They were well-maintained. The greens were reasonably fast and for the most part rolled true. I would probably play this course again; particularly if there was a pricing discount on greens fees.
Desert Mirage Golf Course
Played On 01/24/2022Great alternative to a driving range
This little executive style (9 holes, no par 5s) provide a nice workout for those mid and short range problem clubs to work on. The condition of the roughs leave something to be desired. However the fairways are pretty decent. The greens were a pleasant surprise. They were fast and reasonably challenging and in very good condition
Don’t expect a challenging game if that’s what you are looking for. Tune up your game, very good
Thank you for visiting us at Desert Mirage Golf Course. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 02/05/2021A very enjoyable course
The course design presents a reasonable golfing challenge but not so much to harshly punish errant shots. A lot of sand traps on the course and around bunkers make shot selection something to take seriously. Overall an enjoyable golfing experience. Would definitely play again.
Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 01/30/2021Excellent course shape for winter season
I’ve played this course several times over the years. This is the best I’ve seen this course. No brown grass to be seen. Rough is as green as fairways Very playable. Kudos to the course Superintendant and staff.

Kissimmee Bay Country Club
Played On 01/29/2021Water, water everywhere
Playable course if you hit a straight ball in the direction you intended. Spray the ball and your in for a long day. Water is on 16 holes I was told. Didn't count but I couldn't identify the waterless holes. I enjoyed this course. A very good deal for the price compared with other courses in the area.
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 01/26/2021A Great Course in Really Bad Shape & Shoddy Service
Over the years I have enjoyed playing this course. While the fairways and greens were in excellent shape for this time of year, the rest of the course was pretty much.substandard. Granted there appears to be major rennovations going on. However, there was no mention of that when booking the tee time. Secondly, there were no staff at the bag drop. After unloading bags and parking car, I had to approach the attendant now present to ask for a cart and load my own bags. I'm not above doing that except for $77 even discounted from $100+, the service should be well above what I received.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Mystic Dunes Golf Club!
Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
Played On 02/03/2020Well maintained and enjoyable course
Course is well maintained throughout. From tee box to greens. Not the most challenging course you will play but a very enjoyable one. A good place to get your game back after getting beat up on a 130+ slope course in the area. There is no driving range.
Las Sendas Golf Club
Played On 01/29/2020Very aesthetically appealing.
This is in my opinion one of the most beautifully appealing courses in the Phoenix area. It is a true golfer's photo op if that appeals to one. The course is challenging but with six tee boxes it is accommodating to the higher handicap player as well as giving the scratch golfer a real challenge. It rewards shots in trhe fairway and punishes the errant shots missing it. I love the course and this was my 3rd round here. Definitely will return.
Lmreyman, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Las Sendas Golf Club.
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 01/21/2020A good course for a visiting golfer to start play
While not a desert golf course, it’s very playable with some challenging bunkers around greens. Good speed on the greens. Russell is awfully thin. Good number of bare spots. Fairways very nice. Lots of mature trees that come into play regularly if off the fairways.
Boulder Creek Golf Club - Coyote Run/Eldorado Valley
Played On 02/04/2019Nice desert course
Excellent fairway condition. Well protected by large sand bunkers; both fairway and green side. Several very scenic holes. Would definitely play again.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 01/31/2019An Excellent Arizona desert course
Beautiful fairways. Strategically placed bunkers. Some of the truest running greens I've played in a while. Not a very enjoyable course for a 20+ handicap player. Will definitely play again,
Desert Canyon Golf Club
Played On 01/22/2019Oxmoor Country Club
Played On 08/09/2018The course looks pretty rough but . . .
Compared to what this course looked Loki when it was a private golf club, the course looks rough. Several bare spots on many of the fairways. The roughs have a noticeable amount of wild grasses mixed in. A few bare spots on the greens. That being said, the course played much better than it appeared. The ball ran well in the fairways and the greens ran true and fairly quick. For the the “Hot Deal” price we paid for the round, it was a good deal.
Legend at Arrowhead, The
Played On 01/29/2018Very scenic
This course is surprisingly scenic. The layout is engaging but not necessarily difficult. Greens are well maintained and challenging. Fairways are pretty nice. The rough not so much. The sand traps are unacceptable. An extremely thin layer of sand and rock hard. Really needs attention.
Verrado Golf Club - Victory Course
Played On 01/27/2018A beautiful and unusual layout
This Tom Lehman designed course (the Victory course) has a character unlike any I’ve experienced in a desert course. That is due primarily because the course is located in a former rock quarry. The rough consists primarily of rock boulders in varying sizes. Lehman’s challenging fairway layouts and very fast and undulating greens combined with the rock boulder roughs makes for a challenging round of golf. The beauty of the 18 fairway and green is as beautiful layout as any you will find. My only complaint was the pace of play. Our round took a little over 5 hours to play. For a course with rack rates over $150 I expect course rangers ( who were out on the course to keep play in the 4 to 4.25 hour range. Didn’t happen.
Oakcreek Country Club
Played On 01/17/2018Nice course with incredible surroundings.
An enjoyable but not particularly difficult course. The view of the surrounding red rock formations make the course ambience exceptional.
