Got a great deal on GolfNow. Cold day and course was wet after heavy rain previous evening. It was cart path only (Understandable), Great layout. Look forward to play it again if the price is right.
BraeBen Golf Course - Championship
Played On 06/28/2014Greens did not survive winter very well.
Found the fairways in great shape. Greens were somewhat disappointing. Very patchy in some areas and nobody fixes ball marks. Sand in the bunkers was crusty and hard packed. Got around the course in good time.Views are spectacular.
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 03/30/2014This course requires accuracy.
Considering all the rain the bunkers were in good shape, some greens were a little bit marked up and coud be better. Disappointed in the length of grass in the fairways. They needed mowing badly. Mowing was probably suspended due amount of rain preceding my round.
Cranberry Golf Course
Played On 8/3/2013Good layout can play easy or as hard as you wanto to make it.
No parallel fairways and great distribution of bunkers surrounding the greens. Course was very wet from previous rainstorms so some fairways weren't cut. Cart path only rules in effect. Greens soft and receptive.Greens putted slow due to wetness and found them bumpy but quite playable. Agressive putting was the norm.
This course is a favorite of mine. Played in in a foursome in 4 hours 10 minutes.
Highly recommend this course as a must play. It has a practise facility with range and putting green that is included in the price. Great looking clubhouse. One of the top courses in the area and is reasonably priced.
Sabal Trace Golf & Country Club
Played On 3/21/2013Took 5 hours to play. Some greens need major work.Greens need to be cut a little bit shorter. You can hear the ball rolling.
It has a great layout but it seems neglected in some areas.Took 5 hours to play the course. Waited on every hole and every shot. There were 2 -3 greens were in very poor shape. Greens were slow, could hear the ball rolling. Bunkers were OK. Some lies in the fairways and rough were patchy. Would play again if I had nowhere else to play.
Bent Tree Country Club
Played On 3/16/2013Tee time was half hour behind due to shortage of carts.
Greens have seen better days. Otherwise quite challenging and playable. Bunkers were OK. Waiting half an hour for cart to start the round was annoying. Found facilities closed too early, couldn't find washroom after playing due to everything being locked up at 5:45 PM.
Sarasota National Golf Club
Played On 03/02/2015Good layout with wide fairways and great scoring possibilities.
Great course with great practice facility. I found the greens to be a bit slow compared to some other courses that I have played in the area.
I feel really awkward having to post the following comments on a course that I love to play and reviewed. I played the course in a foursome on March 29,2013 in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Well on Saturday March 30th, 2013 the scenario was a lot different. I boasted to my friends that drove down from Lakewood Ranch about the condition of the course and the speed of play.Needless to say it was disappointing. It took us 5 hours to play. We were positioned behind 2 members and their young children. The members were playing from the back tees and from what I observed they had no business playing from there. The children that were with them looked like they were just out to pass the time of day with their dads. No marshals were evident. Even split 2.5 hours to play the front nine and 2.5 for the back nine. Let's just chalk it up as a one off experience.
