Canyon West Golf and Sports Club
Played On 06/17/2018Check B4 booking tee time!!
Got there in time for our booking time. Paired with couple young men who were very polite and engaging. BUT.... B4 booking a tee time check with pro shop to ensure there is no "special" event (or holiday) that enables golfers to bring children (too young to play)! Our round took over 5 hours due to a trio of men ahead of us, two of whom had kids with them less than 4 years old!!
Wildhorse Golf Club of Robson Ranch - South/West Course
Played On 01/31/2018Unbelievable weather
This is, after having played a round of golf for each of the past 20 years, the hardest conditions I've ever found. The winds were so strong they knocked our clubs over - AS WE WERE ON THE DRIVING RANGE!!! On back nine I had 106 yards to pin, had to pull out a 9-iron and, after a respectable hit, found my ball still 20 yards from the green. Course is great; weather was not!

Played On 10/23/2017Pace, again, somewhat slow (crowded)
Second time at what we (wife & I) consider to be an excellent golf course in past two weeks. Once again, pace was the major point of contention. We followed a man/woman-twosome, who were behind a single, who was behind a three-some, who were behind another couple/twosome. Then we were approached (12th tee) by a single in a cart who expected to get an invitation to join any of those noted herein (and complained to the couple ahead of us when they did not ask him to join them again, on the 12th tee!! Course in excellent shape except for tee boxes - which were mowed on the entire course??

Played On 10/16/2017Canyon West Golf - Weatherford, Texas
Overall, a great experience. We'd (wife and I) played there several times and liked the somewhat 'hilly' and exceptional views from virtually every hole. The only 'real' problem we had was that the course was holding a tourney that day and, supposedly, that group of players had teed off well in advance of us. We spent the last 6 holes behind two groups ahead, playing a scramble format. It seemed to take FAR too much time to get through 18 holes. Anyone wanting to play there, be sure to call when making tee time and ask about any events that may impact your play / start time.
Iron Horse Golf Course
Played On 10/11/2017Knowing In Advance
Having played Iron Horse several times before this round, we were extremely disappointed that we were not told, until we were at the course for our tee time, the course was hosting a charity golf event. While we did get our selected tee time, it took over 5 hours (given the two foursomes ahead of us playing a scramble format) to reach the 17th tee. As it was then 6 PM CDT, we simply carted to the parking lot, packed our clubs and left.
