Dub's Dread Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2014Dubs Dread...a good place to play
The course was in great shape, greens especially. Pace of play was very slow due to a bachelor party having about 5 foresomes in front of us. All in all a great course to work on your skills.
Ospreys Golf Club at Belmont Bay, The
Played On 06/17/2013Great Location and Value
The course by the card is rather short, but offers plenty of challenges to make up for it. Was out there wide open on a Monday, so who knows on a weekend.
Great course to work on your game.
Augustine Golf Club
Played On 6/16/2013Solid Course in need of a Marshall
The course is rather short, but in great shape! The only thing was a marshall/ranger to move the foursome in front of us along who played as if they were in the US Open...SLOW!
TPC Scottsdale - The Stadium Course
Played On 5/25/2013First Class Experience - It's The Stadium Course of course!
Well worth the money to play this legendary course. It was in fantastic shape from tees to greens. We were paired with a member who informed us they will be shutting down for 6-8 months to redo much of the course (I couldn't see the need for it). Nevertheless, it was truly enjoyable, but keep the pace of play.
Highlands at Dove Mountain
Played On 5/5/2013Must Play Value
Not just for the value this time of year, but the amazing layout and excellent all around shape make this course a must play experience in the Tucson area.
Rio Rico Golf Club
Played On 4/13/2013Fun Course, Great Food
Probably falls into the category of fun/should play, but definitely requires some attention...a good Robert Trent Jones layout and the free meal (anything on the menu) was great quality.
SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Club
Played On 2/23/2013Very Solid Course in Great Shape!
It is about the farthest north you can get in the Tucson area, but worth the drive. We had a great time playing. We decided to play best ball to practice up for the tournament season and finished -4, which won't win, but was solid for the first time any of us had played here. Cart service was on about every 5-6 holes. Other than the guy running the front desk seemingly taking his time on purpose (with our tee time rapidly approaching), this was a flawless adventure on a nice course.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 2/16/2013Great Course...Bring Your A-Game
Starr Pass is excellent, though $215 for regular fees forget about that, too many other great courses in Tucson to play for cheaper like Quail Creek, Loews Ventana Canyon or Saddlebrook/Preserve. But, for the Golf Now price, very fun course to play. Get the guide book unless you have a lot of course knowledge here. We played Coyote and Rattler.
Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 2/10/2013Don't let this course go!
The course definitely needs help, but is a great layout and really didn't play that bad all things considered. Not sure that the info out there is 100% correct that the course is scheduled to close...sounds like the decision isn't set in stone. They definitely didn't over-seed and and though the greens are a bit bumpy, they play rather consisten and the bumps don't affect the lines that much. It is a decent course to work on your target game.
Would love to see them save this and the tourney on the 5th of April needs all your support. This could be a fantastic public course again.
Preserve Golf Course
Played On 2/2/2013It really is a Preserve for Golf!!!
Well, what can I say, this is a course that would be worth playing for twice as much as we paid $46. Thanks GolfNow, this was a great time, plus it was my Birthday which made it even better. There were a lot of bunkers to contend with unless you carry 240-250, but still an excellent round.
Quail Creek Golf Club - Coyote/Road Runner Course
Played On 1/27/201327 Holes of Enjoyment
The course is in immaculate shape and is a enjoyable challenge. After 18 holes at lightning pace, 2 of our foursome had to check out the last 9 holes of the Quail course. $15 bucks later and another quick turn left us saying wow. Great course, great deal!!!
San Pedro Golf Course
Played On 1/20/2013Nice layout on a fun course
SP is not a top end course, but it is a fun and decent course. The tee boxes need some work, the greens are in great shape and the fairways are finally being overseeded in the winter. GPS carts add a bit more of value for not a lot of money. The restaurant is pretty good too.
San Ignacio Golf Club
Played On 1/19/2013Glad to hear/see this course rebounding.
This is a pretty fun layout and a pretty decent course. From what I understand it had started to really fall off, like Arizona National unfortunately has, but it played rather well. My only gripe was that as a single I was forced to team up with a foursome, when I was trying to get a quick turnaround. Sadly, this lead to slow play as our foursome was put behind a very slow one and sadly in front of them it was wide open. I probably would have finished 18 under 3 hours.
Tubac Golf Resort - Rancho/Otero
Played On 1/5/2013Tin Cup Course...Nice!!!
It is a bit to the south, but well worth a trip. The course is really fun and I was able to play the last 9 (27 in total) for $19 bucks thanks to Golf Now. This is a must play course at least once. The Break All The Clubs in the Bag hole, followed by the "you're a pro, hit the 3 wood" holes are worth it, not to mention the island green with cows in the background. You won't be disappointed.
Whirlwind Golf Club - The Devil's Claw Course
Played On 1/3/2013Spectacular Arizona Winter Golf
Devil's Claw....what an excellent golf experience. I will definitely play here again. I had no idea this course was here. Thank you Wildhorse Casino.
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 9/21/2012Cart Path Only Front 9 and HOT!!!
Great course. Was able to play alone and make some good time. Only problem was cart path only on the Front 9 at 104 degrees was rough, at least with where I was placing my shots. I definitely want to play the again and hit all the courses there I didn't get a chance to play...hopefully one day even The Gallery's 36 Holes (Private).
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club
Played On 9/9/2012Troon Golf does it again
The Southern Dunes course was a great golf experience. If you are in the Ak-Chin area or even if you make a weekend Casino/Golf trip out of it.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 06/11/2012First Time...WOW!!!
Rattler to Roadrunner...that was fun, challenging and left me wanting to come back soon!
Turquoise Hills Family Golf Center
Played On 06/04/2012Exec Course, Great for Tuning!!!
Unfortunately this course went belly up. It really was in good shape. Granted it was in Benson, but was fun nevertheless. I would like to see this course brought back.
Royal Links Golf Club
Played On 5/8/2012Go on, give er a go!
The course was in excellent shape and if you don't think you will get out to "The Old Course" anytime ever, let alone the rest of the British Open venues, then this is the course for you. It is a bit gimmicky, but so is Vegas in general.
Recommend if you are a tourist, rent a car for the day, even if from your hotel/casino because the cab ride alone will kill you.
Cheers mate!
