McDowell Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/08/2018Why rip us off at the turn?
It’s a nice course, good conditions and I think fairly priced. That said, why do you have to rip off your clients in the clubhouse? When the hard looking waitress handed over 4 boiled, garage sale quality hot dogs and smirked while saying $28, I just about fell over.
Our entire group went from thinking this was a good course where I would be happy to play again to feeling cheated.
I would not play there again, simply because whoever runs the snack bar had to milk us for an extra $20. Bad management.
San Tan Highlands
Played On 03/06/2018Just too much play
They are just moving too many people through the course. The second hole is a par three and at one point there were 16 people on that hole. The first three holes took an hour to play.
The front 9 (Mountain) is more used than the back and the greens are pretty beat up. There are so many cleat marks and ball marks that putting is really a random event.
I know it saves money to have volunteers as starters, etc, but if you are going to try to move that many people through the course you need someone who knows what they are doing. From the time we arrived to when we teed off, thirty minutes late, was a calamity.
I have played that course many many times ver the past 20 years, but I am done for this year at least.
Anaheim Hills Public Country Club

This is a nice course with a challenging layout but if you are playing it for the first tine it is tough, probably half of the tee shots are blind. Don’t even think about walking it.
Kokopelli Golf Course
Played On 03/16/2017Nickel and Dimed
The course is ok, greens in pretty good shape and pace of play was pretty good.
When we arrived the two guys in the pro shop were much more interested in their march madness bracket than telling us about where to pick up our cart, where the first tee was or which other twosome we would play with. Took our money and went back to their bracket. Zero interest in customer service.
The thing I really didn't like was the nickel and diming. Charging extra for a bucket of practice balls once you have paid for a round is lousy and on the course charging $6 for an ice tea is ridiculous. Plenty of better courses in the valley, I won't go back.
