Tour 18 Houston
Played On 02/18/2015The good, the bad and the ugly
The Good- Price to play was good and club rental price average. Attendant was nice and got us rentals quickly. Loved playing replica holes. Sand traps were in strategic locations (as you would expect on a replica course) and the sand was excellent. The Bad....The clubs my son and I rented seemed to have never been cleaned.....ever! Missing clubs and duplicates. Front nine greens were slow and there was little grass in fairways. We waited a long time between holes as the foursome ahead of us (pairs of couples) seemed to be playing 'match play'. Back nine was older and had green grass and greens....which were much faster. Had to make major adjustments to putts. The Ugly....our cart started going really slow around the 16th ran out of juice on the 18th fairway.
Will try this course again when the spring/summer timeframe should provide improved conditions. A good (not great) experience for the price.
The Creeks at Ivy Acres
Played On 10/12/2014Great Shape for October!
We played late in the day on Sunday and were able to get in 15 holes in 2.5 hrs. The course is still in fabulous shape given mid-October. Fairways were well cut and two levels of rough as well. Greens had not been aerated yet. Minimal leaves from trees even where greens were tight to wooded areas.
Eagle Creek is our favorite local course to play with challenging fairways, plenty of sand and water and a good layout.. They take pride in having a well groomed course throughout the year and that is a plus.
White/Blue at Mascoutin Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2014Hidden Gem
If you have not played Mascoutin, treat yourself to a great round of golf at a 1st class location. Paved car paths, soft greens, wonderful vistas and very friendly staff.
Fairways were in superb condition with mature trees outlining each. Plenty of sand traps to challenge your club selection and variation in the cut from rough to fringe to putting surfaces gives the feel of a PGA course. This course has stood the test of time and continues to be a hidden gem in central Wisconsin.
