The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 02/24/2021Great scenic course
Great Course but very challenging if you are not on your best game. Tough greens but overall a very good place to play. Seems to play longer than the yardage indicates.

This course is a nice desert layout and usually has some wind to deal with which makes it interesting to say the least. Not a lot of trouble but enough to challenge all types of golfers. Course is in very good condition right now.
Birdie Ranch at Silver Creek
Played On 06/18/2015High Desert Gem
This course is located in the Junipers in the high desert mountains of Northern Arizona. It was in very nice shape and tested all our shots. I would rate it as moderately difficult with the greens being well undulated and fairly quick. I hit it in the green side bunker on the second hole and saw a cow Elk track going through the bunker a couple of feet from my ball. I wish I could have seen the Elk too. Some of the bunkers were crusty on the top of the sand due to the watering and then the heat drying them. That would be my only complaint as it was a very enjoyable round and I would highly recommend this course to anyone in the area to play.

There are a few required carries that the first timer should have a range finder or equivalent to determine how far to hit it or where they should lay up. Also quite a few bunkers that need to have yardage over or short figures to avoid. Overall a good test and course was in good shape. Greens had some undulations in them so be sure you bring your good putting stroke. Some of the most fantastic desert vista views in the area.

We played in around 4 hours and had a great time. The first time playing was awesome but there are a few blind spot shots that would be helpful if you played with someone who had knowledge of where to aim. Overall, this course was a delight to play and we are planning on going there many more times. Some of the views were absolutely stunning and we saw 2 bobcats crossing the fairway on number 7. They delayed our round a few minutes as we took some extra time to enjoy seeing them as they meandered across the lush grass. As close to a perfect day as it gets in my mind.
Stoneridge Golf Course
Played On 09/08/2014This course is a little gem
Course was in very good condition with the greens putting fairly fast. It has a good combination of easier holes and some were very challenging. I played a combination of the blue and white tees and found it about the right degree of difficulty for my game. I played the course one other time and found the Blue tees a bit tougher as some of the par 4's were on the longish side so the combination as suggested on the card with each hole length circled was a good fit. This course is out in the middle of no where and the surrounding grounds is customer friendly with RV sites and rental homes/condos available.

Played On 11/28/2012Good value and pace of play was great.
Nice course design located in high desert atmosphere. We only saw a few people out there all day which was nice as the feel was we had most of the course to ourselves. Pace of play was great as we played played in around 3 and a half hours. The greens were good and the maintenance of the overall course was very nice-I have seen better but also much worse. I would recommend this course to anyone I meet but if you want a real tough challenge, this course would not be it. It plays pretty wide open as only a few holes have much trouble at all.
