The greens were in horrible shape and they were punching them as we played. The punch machine really chewed up the edges of the greens, but the greens that hadn't been punched were bad too. I come down to MB every year at this time and this is the third worst conditioned course that I have played here. The other two have since closed, so this is the worst. Maybe it gets better as the season progresses, but I wouldn't play it again at this time of year even if I was comped.

The greens had some area that were in very bad shape.
Fortunately the pins were not near those areas. It's early in the year, but we had played another nearby course 2 days earlier and their greens were excellent. Fairways were nice. When you get off the fairway, there is no rough, just sand and hard-pan. The water hazards are marked by checkered flags, which is a nice touch especially if you are not familiar with the course.

We were sent to the wrong 1st nine, so when we were making the turn, we had to wait behind 2 groups of players, playing a Captains choice tournament. Or we were offered the option of playing the same nine again. We chose not to do that. Very slow 2nd nine behind the Captains choice groups. The bar area wasn't open at the turn. It doesn't open until 11:00. Ridiculous.

This course was in typical shape for courses in this area for this time of year. The greens were in good shape, other than the practice green.

The tee boxes left a lot to be desired, but you can put it on a stick there, so not a big downer. The greens however were in horrible shape with many bare spots and chewed up areas. Also, the greens are probably why the course is called Brick Landing. They don't hold lofted shots. Few ball marks though because of that. If you are 5 yards off of the green, you are playing off of mud or sand, pretty much the same for the fairways. There were not enough yardage markers, limited signage to get you from green to the next tee, and no help on the tee to indicate distance to reachable hazards. The only positive was the layout. Overall, there are way too many better courses in the area to ever come back here.

This course is always in good condition, and this round was no exception. The greens were in excellent shape, and fast. Fairways and rough were also in good shape, and sand traps were recently worked on and filled with new sand. We played Bay and Sand courses.
