Sundance Golf Club
Played On 02/20/2023Slow to improve
Course, overall, was in good condition. Greens crew seems to have an ongoing problem with putting tee markers up after the morning mow. Black markers were not up for all 18. They, oddly enough, had tee times as early as 6:40, with no daylight. Having to get the earlier groups off at first light created a backlog that pushed our tee time back by 30 minutes.
Guy at the pro shop probably isn’t the best choice to check people in. Doesn’t seem to be a people person, which may contribute to them being a little thin on staff. Restaurant, after being boarded up for over a year, looks exactly like it did a year ago.
South Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club
Played On 03/22/2022Greens are great!
This course has greens that were replaced around a year ago with a newer type of bermuda. I last played it before the renovation and it was in good shape then. The greens are holding well, but are fast. Stimp was around a 12. Greenside bunkers have been refilled with a fluffier sand and no longer have a hard pan feel that many of the courses in the valley have. Great layout and fairways were excellent.
Wigwam Resort - Red Course
Played On 03/17/2022My favorite of the 3
I’ve always enjoyed playing the Red course because I like the layout. Bunkers could use some fluffy sand…or, just sand. Everything else was good and the cart girl (Tiffany) did a GREAT job. She stopped by 3 times during our round. I’ll be back.

Played On 02/15/2022Feels like I’m playing during overseed
For those of you walking the course, Sundance plays great. If you’re in a cart, it feels like you’re playing after overseed. They have a very large amount of the fairways blocked off. Some courses, like the Wigwam courses, will block off the first 100 yards or so of a fairway. Sundance will block, in some instances, an entire 270 yards of the fairway. This does promote slow play and a lack of divots being filled. How many golfers remember to grab the divot bottle before leaving the cart after grabbing 3 clubs and the range finder/gps device?
On an odd note, our tee time was 7:40 and there were several groups out before us. None of the tee boxes were setup. The maintenance crew mowed the boxes and left the markers off to the side.
The fairways and greens were in decent shape and bunkers seemed to have sand that felt like sand and not hardpan. I can speak for 2 of them (green-side left on 9 and 2nd fairway left on 18).
Overall, you get what you pay for.

Played On 02/13/2022Great go-to course
Course is in good condition. There’s a couple of holes that have issues on the green (dry spots, under repair), but overall, the course is in good shape. They do have a good amount of regulars and members that play there and they tend to get a bit whiny when play slows a bit despite being able to finish the round in 4 hours.

Played 9 holes this morning and it’s cart path only. Greens and fairways are coming in nicely from over seeding. Can’t wait for it to mature a bit.

Played On 04/02/2021Getting better!
I’ve played here several times and the greens were really beat up last year and they seem to be getting better. Stimpmeter was around 8. Pace of play, even with a tournament wrapping up before my tee time, a seemingly slow group in front of us, and a woman’s group teeing off on the 10th right before we got there; we finished in 4 hours. Staff is always friendly and you can’t beat it for the money.
We're glad you found value in Arizona Traditions Golf Club for our pace pf play, our course staff, and for the price!
Sterling Grove Golf & Country Club
Played On 02/15/2021Must play!
This is a brand new Nicklaus Designed course that has a challenging layout and greens that will test your ability to read them. Currently open to the public, the plans are to have it go private within 5 years. GPS gives you some great tips for each hole and following them should help you score well. Driving range is similar to other Troon courses and provides you with everything you need to prep for your round or simply get in some grind time. Locker room leaves nothing to be desired and the staff is friendly. Gave 4 stars for amenities because the course restaurant and bar aren’t quite finished and the liquor license won’t be in until next week. Greens were hard, so plan on playing 5-10 yards short of the pin. Overall, great experience and I will be back.

This course is my go to for getting a round in since it’s fairly close to my house. Barring some issues with the greens, the course is in great condition. Staff is always friendly and it’s nice having the beverage cart back. I’ll definitely be back.
We're so happy to hear Arizona Traditions Golf Club is your go-to golf course!
Starfire Golf Club - The King Course
Played On 09/26/2020Course needs help
After booking I received an email stating that the range was closed. This also included the putting green. At first I thought, no big deal. I’ve played here before. Then the I realized just how poor the shape of the course was. Greens had crab grass. Clover growing in the rough. Tee boxes that were so hard I could’ve used a hammer. Staff is good, but the course really needs some TLC.
Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your feedback. We regret the conditions you experienced during your round at Starfire. Unfortunately, due to multiple circumstances, including a hotter and drier summer than usual, we suffered a difficult transition. Please be assured that we are working hard to ensure top conditions, we will soon have the winter overseeding complete and everything will be in excellent condition again. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to an opportunity to make a better impression next time. As always, please feel free to reach out to me personally.

Definitely one of the best in the country. Very challenging and a must play before it goes private.
Wigwam Resort - Red Course
Played On 07/25/2020Nice course
First time on this course and it was great. Good resort course and lots of room to drive the ball. Missing it shot could punish you dearly bu putting you in trees or in the water. Overall, fun to play and I’ll be back again.

Played On 07/17/2020Great course!
This course is fun to play and is so much different than what we find in Phoenix. It’s an great condition and pace of play was excellent. If you want to play golf in a cooler climate than the valley, they just head 1.5 hours north to this gem.
