Tanglewood Resort Hotel and Conference Center
Played On 8/26/2013It wasn't what I expected
I have wanted to play this course since I started playing golf 8 yrs ago. But the green fees were really high, therefore it "must be really, really nice!" (Right?) not so much, I got to play it today thanks to golfnow.com for only $5.99 with a cart. It wasn't what I thought it would be all those yrs I dreamed of playing it. Now don't get me wrong, the tee boxes were ok, the fairways were ok, the greens were really nice, but it was like playing at northern challenge or Grayson as far as the course lay out. The bunkers were well groomed and actually had sand in them, unlike northern challenge (their bunkers are over grown with grass). For the most part the ball sat up on the fairways. But still it was all flat, like a pasture, hardly no elevated or lowered greens. I will prob play it again, but only if I get another deal on golfnow.com.

This course I played several yrs ago and wasn't very impressed, but tried them again this year after they revamped their course. They dropped the rate to a respectable $25.00.with a cart. This course is now one of my faves. It doesn't feel like a pasture like Grayson, northern challenge, or tanglewood. There are elevations and depressions that really make you choose your club wisely. The afore mentioned courses require only that you know your distance with each club, but this one you need to take into account the elevation or lack there of for selection, which I like.

Ok this is a re-review. After my first exp at this course I wrote a review and sent it to the bridges. They were upset about my exp at their course and offered a couple of replays. When we went back it was much nicer. The aeration was complete and the greens were back to normal. It's one of the nicer courses in Grayson county. I look forward to playing there again.....

Played On 7/29/2013very upset with this course
i doubt i will ever go back. the course itself was pretty. i called ahead of time to inquire as to the dress code and the guy told me a collared shirt, which is pretty much standard. but what he didnt tell me until i had already booked my tee time online and after i arrived to pick up my cart was that the back nine was closed bc they were "poking wholes" in the greens. so we would have to just play the front nine twice. they were aerifying the back nine. ok i know thats neccessary great we will replay the front nine. apparently they aerified the front nine the day before!! had i known that i would not have played that course for a few weeks!!! there were so many wholes and the sand was so deep on the green that at first site i thought the green was a bunker. it was about as easy as putting in a bunker!!!! horrible experience, they should have warned any and all callers of course maintenance!!!!

Played On 7/2/2013The course itself is nice.
Our tee time was 1030. About half the holes had the sprinklers on. We had to dodge sprinklers, avoid mud, ended up with everyone in my group with wet shoes and socks. Very upsetting they couldn't keep the water off during hrs of play. My son said he would never come back to this course. When we turned in our carts, we reported the sprinklers running during play, and they said "yeah your about the fourth complaint we had on that today"
