Green Valley Country Club
Played On 04/04/2024wear a collared shirt???
Went to the course to play nine holes around 6pm. Course was empty. Inside there was a young guy, who said he cant let me on the course because im not wearing a COLLARED SHIRT? i explained that I was a teaching pro, managed a course and those kind of rules are archaic and insulting. The PGA players dont wear collared shirts regularly. I was wearing an athletic top with a crew neck, similar to what tiger woods generally plays in, a Nike
Men's Dri-fit Victory Blade Polo. Exasperated I luckily had a traditional expensive golf shirt with a collar in my car (from firestone golf course) and used it.
Course itself is a very good layout, but is not very well maintained.
Went back the next day and guys in the pro shop were shocked at the collared shirt demand and were very friendly.

Tight!! If you spray the ball its not the course for you. Small greens make it all about accuracy. Trees are everywhere but not overly dense so you at least can get the ball back in play. Friendly staff!! Overall pretty good experience.

I got a great price at golf now but I was quite disappointed in my experience. Firstly as a single I was put with a 3 sum. All nice guys but we were constantly played through by two sums and even a single! Why wouldn’t they have put me with a two sum or single or joined up groups into more four sums ? Made zero sense.
The course has some nice scenic holes. Very scenic. However the fairways were ridiculously narrow and any ball even 4 feet into the rough has a good chance of not being found. Maybe this is what they think is a tough course? It only allows short ( course is not long) straight hitters to do well. If you are a long hitter and want to use 7 irons off the tee to hit the fairways enjoy! I’ll go to lion head where for the same price I can hit driver 10 feet off the fairway and not lose balls. What a joke. Oh and I am not a hacker who can’t play, this course sets up well for a 75 yr old man who drives 200 yards straight. Don’t waste your time and $ !

This is a tough course, narrow with water and trees on almost every hole and undulating greens. It has some nice layout holes but overall I was lukewarm. The greens are full of odd undulations that seem tricked up. The pin placements were in horrible positions that at times had people putting off the greens. Sorry greenskeeper this isnt augusta, a pin at the middle of a downhill slope isnt fair or fun. They also made us take a cart which is annoying. I shot mid 80s from blues but this was a course that just felt empty and kind of meh...
Remington Golf Club
Played On 02/15/20174 days at Remington. Could be really good...but..
I decided to play four straight rounds at Remington during my recent trip to Orlando. The pro shop staff was friendly the first four days with a young lady working and less so my final day when a guy was working and seemed a bit arrogant. The older guys who are starters and get your carts ready are great.
The course itself could be really really good. The layout is excellent and the greens can be tricky. The fairways are wide open generally but there is tons of water on almost every hole. The 13th is by far the hardest hole in my opinion, a nasty dog leg par 5 with water all on the right side and massive trees preventing any cut off. The green is narrow and sloped and I went double, par, bogey, double in my four rounds, which were 83, 79, 80, 78.
The negative was a lack of attention to detail. Very rarely were there yardage markers and the sand traps were very poorly maintained. The ball washers didnt even work, and in 4 days I never once saw a cart attendant.
This course is fun, a nice challenge, but unfortunately needs some TLC.
