Tee to green the course was in better than average condition. Greens were below average with a number of bare spots and at least six greens need to be totally redone.
Golfers, please remember to leave is course in the same or better shape than you found it in. I ran out of sand filling in divots on the tee boxes and fairways.
It was a hot day in the low 90's and every water station was empty, no coolers were to be found. So if you play here, make sure you BYOW (bring your own water).

I normally consider all factors in reviewing a course but the conditions of this course are very poor. The only real positive was the staff I had interaction with. From the tee boxes to the fairways to the bunkers to the greens, this course needs help in all areas. If you pay more than $10.00 to $14.00 to play, just be forewarned.

Play was very slow with a threesome & foursome of ladies in front of me. Although they could see that I was a single player, playing quicker than them & was asked if I could play through, they refused. On the back nine, it became worse...they combined their groups...no Starter/Marshall on course to monitor play.
Greens are in excellent condition, all tee boxes except three were in good shape, some fairways were sparse in places due to the drainage work that was done in the past but overall they were good.
Enjoyed the course, just not the inconsiderate players on this day .

Greens are rough with bare spots, sand traps are hard dirt with no sand & some fairways have little to no grass in spots.

If you are looking for a course that isn't a typical Florida flat track, Scotland is a pleasant change of pace. The rolling features of the course will have you thinking about each shot.
Most of the tee boxes were good with only a couple that needed some care. Fairways were good but had some areas with more weeds than grass. Only one green was in poor condition that made putting difficult.
Enjoyed the entire round since the course was fairly empty. I would recommend that if you are in the area, try the course for a change of pace.

Tee boxes were in fair condition, some were terrible.
Fairways were in good condition overall.
Greens were the worst I've ever played on. Many worn-out with little to no grass. Need to be closed with temporary greens placed to work on regular greens.
I would not recommend this course to be played until the greens are given the attention needed to make them playable again.

Thus is a very good course, a good test for the average golfer. The staff was excellent, value - course layout was good, amenities was average since they are going through a major renovation which will be outstanding when completed in December.
My two concerns were the pace of play & the course conditions. I was behind a foursome & threesome that took 2-3 practice swings before hitting & lined up every putt from every angle as if they were at the Masters...come on people. It took 2.5 hrs to play the front 9, thank goodness these 7 hackers went to the clubhouse & I was able to get them behind me.
The course condition DOES NOT reflect on the staff & management but to the those of previous players (I use that term lightly) of the course. On every hole I was filling in divots on the tee boxes & fairways that hackers couldn't or wouldn't take the time to fill. On the greens I fixed a number of ball marks that were either overlooked or just ignored...For those of us that respect the game & the rules, it makes us mad when we have to fix the results of hackers that don't care how they leave the course. For this, remember what was taught to us that do play the game "Leave the course in the same or better condition than you found it"!!!
