Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 08/20/2016Bring plenty of your own water
I guess the course would be enjoyable if you avoided the mid-summer heat. The course has not a single water station on any hole except the on-course rest rooms that you only pass nearby twice in the 18 holes. I can not believe any course in Florida would allow players to be subjected to heat stroke due to dehydration. Don't ask about the cart girl; she came by once and said she's tired of hearing complaints about no drinking water on the course. I could have passed out if it wasn't for ice on the side of the cart that had a single bottle of water in it at the start. Other than that, the course marginally belongs in the top 100 public courses and I won't be back.
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 08/16/2015Disgraceful!
Great course and overall beautiful facility. My one and only complaint, and a big one, is that we played 18 holes in 90 degree heat and 80% humidity and there was not a single place to get drinking water, except for $3.00 bottles in a vending machine, on the whole course. There were two tables set out outside of rest rooms on the course, but both were empty as early as 9:00 am. They were never refilled and we only saw the beverage cart girl once, after 12 holes. How could a world class facility be so inconsiderate and not be aware of how dangerous the conditions are during the mid-summer in Florida. Disgraceful!!!
The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
Played On 02/11/2015Pair of fine courses
Don't be fooled; there is almost as much water on the Forest Course as the Lakes course. This course is supposedly a bit easier and shorter that the Lakes Course, but I found it every bit as challenging and fun.
If you're in the area and can play either of the Eagle courses, I would do it. Best greens as of Feb '15 of any course in the area and green value on some of the discount golf websites. Enjoy. ,
Wentworth Golf Club
Played On 01/30/2015Fazio course will eat you up
Toughest 5,500 yard course (from the white tees) I've ever played. If you are over an 8-10 handicap, play the whites or maybe even green tees because if you play the blue (just over 6,000 yards), you will be humbled to the point that you may never play again. LOVE this course.
Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club - Copperhead Course
Played On 12/07/2014Better be on top of your game
This is a tough course, especially for a mid-to-high handicapper that isn't on top of his/her game. The pros play from the tips with less problems than someone that can not split the fairways or is intimidated by water or extremely penal rough. You should play this course if you have the chance, but be prepared to swallow your pride when you walk off it.
Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club - Island Course
Played On 12/06/2014Must bring your "A" game
I played in the Golf Channel Am Tour event and truly my score reflected poor play versus the difficulty of the course. It is a fair but challenging course, and bring along a few extra balls if you are not playing well. Hope to get a second shot at this course some day.
Twisted Oaks Golf Club
Played On 04/26/2014Very average
Very decent layout and nice shape. The starter said it was friendly course and I agree that women or seniors would love it. I found the course to not be challenging from the whites and too long for my friend from the blues.
Royal Oaks Golf Club
Played On 04/25/2014Great community course
Great course and layout. Played the white tees from 6288 yards and fair test of course for mid handicapper.
Windermere Country Club
Played On 04/24/2014Average at best
Not sure what you could call special about this place unless you get a great rate from Golf Now. The next day I played Royal Oaks in Ocala and there was no comparison as Royal Oaks is better layout, better aesthetics and better condition. BTW, guess which course costs less?
We appreciate your feedback. Thanks for playing our course and taking the time to fill out a review.
