Brookledge Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2020Course Conditions Good but my Nephew was not allowed to ride in cart with his Dad
While the course conditions were great our experience was dampened due to the fact my 10 year old nephew was told he was not allowed to ride in a cart with my brother in law who is his DAD and was forced to walk...While everyone is concerned about Coronavirus sometimes common sense needs to prevail when a 10 year is not permitted to ride in a cart with his father who he lives with...With wet conditions my Nephew said after the round his "feet felt like ice cubes, they are cold...wet and sore..." after the round. While everyone wants to feel safe during these times, these mitigating conditions actually put my nephews health at risk by making him walk alone. The staff at Brookledge didn't seem to worried about that. The staff stated this was a rule of the Summit County Health Department....We have played other courses in Summit County and around the area during this Pandemic and never had an issue until now. If restrictions like this are in place they should be noted on the golf now reservation form.

Played On 08/05/2018Sprinklers on entire round..course overly saturated
This course reminded us of TPC at Myrtle Beach...the problem was we played TPC in a driving rainstorm...had the 1st tee time at 7am so pace of play wasn't a problem until we had to wait for the sprinklers...Sprinklers were on the entire round and this is after it had rained every day this week...the sprinklers created standing water everywhere including the greens fairways and tee boxes that all had inches of standing water on them...on numerous occasions the Sprinklers would start almost on top of us while we were hitting our shots and on one occasion started on the green while we were putting and shot water inside our cart ruining my buddies cell phone...if I knew we had the Sprinklers to deal with I wouldn't have bothered showering in the morning...we called the pro shop to complain and the girl working said would call the maintenance staff...but never did...when we stopped in after the round to complain she said she couldn't get a hold of them and there was nothing she could do...she obviously didn't care...we also told the kid working the carts as well and he didn't seem to care either...also they are no longer maintaining the sand traps and seem to be growing them out and they were treated as ground under repair...ive never been a huge fan of the layout here but the course always been in good shape now it seems like they don't care and they don't know how to treat customers either which means we won't be back unless changes are made..

Played On 07/04/2018nice layout..great shape...
Course was in great shape...fast greens...well conditioned...my only beef is lack of distance markets on par 3s..tough to tell yardage on par 3s and without range finder my group misclubbed a few times...other than that I'd highly recommend the course and would return anytime.

Played On 08/09/2017Nice Layout, Quick Greens, Was Pleasantly Surprised
Nice Layout.. Greens were quick, but still a little bumpy even after getting aerated a few weeks back. But after someone in my group talked to the Pro about the greens, he took care of us and gave us a rain check to come back. I'd play here again.

Played On 06/15/2014Don't play on a Sunday Morning
We showed up early on a Sunday Morning with a Golf Now Tee Time and even though we reserved a time through Golf Now, we were told we had to play behind their 2 Sunday Morning Leagues. We were there before the leagues even started and were told we were not allowed to go out by Frank behind the desk because he had to take care of his "regulars". My threesome usually plays 18 in 2 1/2 hours but were not allowed to start in front of the leagues. After one of my buddies talked with Frank, he allowed us to strart on the back 9.. We were able to cruise on the backside of the course, but when we made the turn to 1, it took us 3 hours to play the front 9.. Course was very wet, but the greens were in pretty good shape once they got the dew off in the morning.. Fairways and rough were pretty much what I expected. I'm sure if you go at the right time and get a a good golf now deal, its a good value, but I won't be back on a Sunday Morning.

Played On 06/09/2014Good Value, Nice Course Conditions
Course was in great shape.. The gentleman working in the pro shop, was very helpful and made sure we got off in front of a ladies league so we wouldn't get held up. Its been almost 10 years since I played the course and for the deal we got on golf now around $14 for 18 and a cart, it can't be beat. The course is not very difficult, but the holes have character and the round was very enjoyable.

Played On 06/01/2014Nice Course, Mean Starter!
Always one of my favorite layouts. Love the links style course, fairways and greens were in fantastic shape! Pro Shop Staff inside was very friendly, but the starter is not good for business. When we were teeing off, he yelled at our group for hitting when the group was already on the green. He told us "You don't hit until I tell you to hit" and was rather mean when he greeted us. But the rest of the staff was friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our round. My other complaint was pace of play. It would have been fine, and was for the 1st 12 holes, until a modified shotgun was started on a Sunday Morning for the WPIAL Wrestling Officials which caused massive backups over the last 6 holes. We played the 1st 12 holes in 2 1/2 hours and it took us over 2 1/2 hours to play the final 6 holes. They should come up with a better way to get this group on the course.

Played On 05/22/2014Great Value, Nice Layout
Was pleasantly surprised as this was the 1st time I played the course. Paid only $29 for a Golf Now deal, great value for the money.. Holes have character, greens are fast, very friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone and will play again the next time I'm in the Youngstown Area. Played at 12noon on a Thursday and the course was open with very few players on it. Played as a threesome and got 18 holes in, in under 3 hours!

Played On 8/22/2013Nice Course..but very slow play
For such a nice course its ashame the pace of play is so slow. We played on a Thursday Afternoon and it took over 5 hours to play. Apparently that is the norm at Longaberger according to the course workers. We couldn't have asked for nicer course conditions and the layout is one of my favorites to play, but the pace of play ruined the entire round. At one point, 4 groups were on the 4th tee, I talked with the ranger, he told me he knew what was causing the hold up, but couldn't do anything about it.. (must have been his regular buddies playing slow).. He also told us if it stormed not to use the shelter near the 12th hole, because they had a bee issue there.. You would think that could be solved with some bee spray.. Overall a nice course, but I won't go back unless I have the 1st tee time of the day because its not worth my while to play a long round. If you like to play slow, you'll fit right in at Longaberger.
