The course should have been closed. Fairways were rock hard and weeds. Greens were a mess. Many of the bunkers had been all but grown over with grass. This course should be shut down until they get it back into playable shape. The restaurant/ bar was closed so you couldn’t even get any food. I realized quickly why the rate was $45 and frankly half of that is too much.

This course has a really cool layout.. So many neat holes. It however is not taken care of in the least. The traps are a disgrace and completely flooded out (have been all summer, I've played it a few times). Tee boxes and fairways are average at best. There is no where on the course to grab something to eat during the round. They have some drinks in the pro shop and that's about it. This course needs new ownership ASAP. It is not at all worth $55 on a Wednesday in October.

This course is a great layout but needs help. On course food & beverage service does not exist. You have to go to the restaurant across the street. No driving range or short game area, only a putting green. Course was in decent shape for off season. Greens were slow and bumpy. Fairways and tee boxes were fine. The bunkers were atrocious. No sand and many filled with water. Most were just not taken care of. For $25 in the off season it was fine but at their summer rates they better do way better. pro shop was also very limited in what it offers.

Being a local it is expensive to catch a great course like Sand Barrens in the summer. Got out yesterday at 10AM and had the place to myself on a gorgeous fall day. Conditions were great and at $65 it was an incredible value.
