Ashton Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/01/2023Very Nice Course / Club House is a Duh.
It’s been a year since I played Ashton Hills. Course is in very nice shape with exception of a few tee boxes that are sanded for regrowth. The fairways and greens are very nice. Played RTJ Grand National a week prior then came home & played AH. AH is an 8 when comparing to RTJ course (11).
The club house personnel is an another story. My group didn’t get the feel that the club house personnel wanted to be there or they wanted my group there. It was a duh moment. Even when we drove up to drop off bags, the gentlemen manning the carts just looked at us. Like dang…. Again this is a comparison after just playing RTJ.
Look forward to playing the track again. Hope the club house personnel is a little better.

Course is in excellent. Learned today the city of Conyers owns course. This is awesome public course better than most Club Corp courses I’ve played.
Lake Spivey Golf Club
Played On 05/02/2021Disappointed
The course layout is very nice but the condition of course is poor. The greens are in poor condition...crabgrass on several holes. The fairways had just been aerated I guess three days ago so ball never could setup. The upside is the GPS golf carts. Will wait another year to play there again.
The Creek At Hard Labor State Park
Played On 05/01/2020Horrible Greens
The course track is great and the views are wonderful. The tee boxes and fairways are very nice, but the greens are horrible. The best way to describe the putting surfaces “greens “ would be to to use an expletive word! Honestly, all 18 round patches are suppose to be green. All kind of little grass patches and clumps. There is so much traffic on the putting surfaces you think you are on I-285 on a Monday morning ( pre coved-19)....it is fruitless to try to putt. I hate I burned my Avid Golfer pass ( $20) on this course but in retrospect my buddies paid $34 (golf now). Hope the other state courses putt surface not this poor.

Played On 07/07/2018Beautiful View and Track Layout
Played the Creek and Lake courses today. The views on both courses were very nice. The Creek and Lake courses were in great shape from tee to green. Bought the Ideal Golfer to play course. It is definitely a repeat visit required. Strategy play was a necessity to play the Lake. The ninth box on the Lake will fool you so be careful. A nice cigar, buddies and winning $$ were added bonus.
Heron Bay Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/24/2018Wonderful Course; Staff Terrible
My buddies play this course via Ideal Golfer. We heard from several duffers the pace of play is most challenging aspect of course. They were right. The Sunday started off right because the day was right for cigars, buddies and $$ on the line. The day however turned frightful. The mean lady... I mean she was mean...didn’t like we used our Ideal Golfer coupons. The pace of play was awful. The sign inside clubhouse said no single play. Well there was a single that tee off before us and it took him almost 15 minutes to finish the first hole...my foursome was at the second box he had not tee off yet... on the phone arguing with his significant other. We called the club house... mean lady said deal with it or go around him. Long story short...the Marshall finally made him join group ahead of him. By the time we reached 10th box... it was backed up with two foursomes. We went to clubhouse to complain and request to play the front nine over. Mean lady said we could play front nine over after we pressed her. Overall, the front nine was very nice. Fairways were nice and greens played fast. Will not visit anytime soon.
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
Played On 05/27/2017Nice Course But
Crystal Lake is a very nice course layout but the course condition was not near what we expected . We found this course available for $28 on Golfnow as a hot deal. Regular rate is $51-58.
We were expecting to see after all the rains the fairways to be green and thick The fairways were thin, very thin. Ball didn't set up. Yes we hit a majority of our fairways (15/18). The greens were fine.
It will only be via another hot deal that we'll play this course. As is the course is not a $55 course.
Monroe Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/19/2016Playing in the Wind
Despite the sunny day the high winds hinder our play especially after we made the turn. The course was in great shape plenty of dog legs but minimum traps / hazards. The golf attendant was ok; seemed sully we interrupted his smoke.

The course plays well; it is a nice tract. A must play.
Hey "KWOME33' thank you so much for the positive review!
Heron Bay Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/27/2016Not Wanted
Club Corp has been promoting several of its courses the past couple weeks. Heron Bay is one. Big signs everywhere within the HB clubhouse and on carts...Members Wanted. I just can't do it...invest time and money there. The greeting at Clubhouse was lukewarm. The course was in so-so shape. Fairways holding water. Greens had many unrepaired divots. Restuarant messed up my sandwich. Then...then there is the pace of play. What should take only 4 hours (4.5 tops) took us nearly 5.5 hours. No marshall to move play along. Got behind a three-some and they in the fairway talking like they are in a hotel lobby. Nope...can't do it....couldn't be a member there.
Cherokee Run Golf Club
Played On 05/22/2016Cherokee Run is a Must Play
First time in 2016 to play Cherokee Run and I must say the course is almost in immaculate condition. The ball sits up in the fairway very nice (if you hit the fairway) and the greens are very good condition. New dimension is the carts have gps, and the gps helps an ole duffer like me see the course layout. Unfortunately if you land in one of the many bunkers, plan your patience! The sand was packed and tight. No fluffiness in the traps. It is okay fellas to humble yourself and play from Augusta...if your not a bomber and you can't hit your 6 iron over 170 yds--stay away from the black & blue boxes. Those boxes are for the big boys. Btw, the hot dogs are great. I will definitely return.
Kirk1834306,
Thank you for your review. We are excited to hear that you will be returning to the course for another round! We look forward to having you back-- with a hot dog waiting for you!

First time this year playing MV. The course is in very nice condition. Ball sits up nicely in fairway. Only one free need some work; its 16. Will return during summer.

Played On 07/19/2015Trying To Come back
It's been a couple years since I last play C F. New management is making changes and you can see changes. The fairways are defined and ball sits up, and greens are better. The traps/bunkers still need work and new sand-- a lot of small rocks and pebbles in sand. The cart paths remain horrible but new group assures they will have new paths by next spring. Still a a good and challenging venue to play.
Thank you for your feedback we like hearing the good and bad about the course and it helps us continue to improve. We hope you will come back and see us again soon.
Eagle's Brooke Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/19/2015Great Skill Test
Course is in very nice shape. Glad they made the back nine the front nine. If you hit the fairway then ball will sit up well for next shot--birdie or par strike. Ready to go at it again...swing'em good!
Cherokee Run Golf Club
Played On 03/08/2015Very Nice Course just Slow Play
The Sunday weather (sunny and 70) made a great day for golfing until we saw the foursome in front of us. The Marshall saw them too and did nothing. The group played from blue box and hacked their way through. Terrible experience on a nice course.
The Oaks Course
Played On 02/14/2015Nice Course
The course had generous fairways, and the back nine brings in more water ways. Even with winter grass ball sits up in fairway--not hitting off hard carpet.
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing Cherokee Run Golf Club!
