Verrado Golf Club - Victory Course
Played On 02/08/2019Verrado Victory
Fine course is well maintained and challenging. Friday’s are often busy with large out of town groups so earlier weekday is more enjoyable and offers a faster pace.
South at Boulders Golf Club & Resort
Played On 12/19/2017Boulders South
The course has incredible natural beauty with enormous features, boulders, framing several holes and fairways.
The driving range was nice, putting green in a different zip code which was not convenient. As a private course the members likely know their way around the complex. As a guest, the signage is lacking. It is easy to make wrong turns.
The course is beautiful, demanding. The ranger manages to a 4.5 hour round so take extra balls. You won’t be allowed to look for your wayward shots. The desert setting is nice.
We are at “the grill” after the round and the food there is just OK. They could do better.
Course intended for better golfers. Maybe those with handicaps less than 12?
Have fun, worth the visit.
Copper Canyon Golf Club - Vista/Lake Course
Played On 03/31/2017Final four gold
Great course for a Friday afternoon round of golf. Crowded courses in Scottsdale so come out west and play Copper Canyon. Very enjoyable.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 12/24/2014Great design, fun, fair, and top shape.
Excellent choice away from the city noise. Solid layout featuring water, sand, undulation, and elevation changes. You will enjoy the round. Course is in great condition.
StoneRidge Golf Course
Played On 07/20/2014Hills and valleys
Excellent course with elevation change on every hole. Not for a beginner. Weather here is perfect in mid summer. Don't miss out.
Corte Bella Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2014Corte Bella - play fast
Course played fast as few players were out on a summer morning, and the greens had just been aerated. Putting was very difficult, but the course was in good shape overall.
Rancho Manana Golf Club
Played On 10/10/2013Course has personality, and narrow fairways
Once you find Rancho Mañana, park, and enter the very comfortable pro shop, you know the place holds some special golf history. It feels very much like a private club. Folks are friendly, staff is very helpful. Narrow fairways, beautiful landscape and cactus, greens are well maintained. I enjoyed the day at Rancho Mañana, you will too!
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 2/18/2013Traditional course layout, 129 slope.
A great value and played in 4 hours. Mature golf course with large trees and lined fairways. A great place to test your skills.
Quintero Golf Club
Played On 11/20/2012Bring your "A" game to this venue.
Best course in the entire Phoenix area. Quintero is special. Setting features running water, lakes, elevated tees, pristine conditions from tee to greens. Greens are fast, but fair. Level of difficulty is high but you can "tee it forward" and enjoy the round.
North Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club
Played On 11/17/2012Water and trees make for an 18 hole oasis in the desert.
Fun course set in a retirement community, laid back, easy pace. Greens are slow, but overall conditions were excellent.
Oakcreek Country Club
Played On 9/29/2012Stunning beauty all around in Oak Creek - Red Rock area.
The course is semi private and has the feel of a country club, not a public course. Food is good and wholesome, setting is casual. Golf course is fair, and requires accuracy off tee and solid short game. A great place to bring a 4 some or play alone. Either works and pro shop will accomodate. I played as a single and got around in just under 4 hours.
River's Edge Golf Course
Played On 9/4/2012Nice layout, good value, elevation changes....
Front nine is narrow and demands a strategy. You should not grip it and rip it, here. I used 3 wood and hybrids off most of the holes. Back nine opens up and driver is now out of the bag. Runs along the river and offers a nice mix of water, sand, and elevation changes. You will likely hit all the clubs in your bag.
