The Links at Heartland Crossing
Played On 07/02/2016Great layout but greens and sand bunkers need massive work.
This links style course has a great layout. It's long enough to challenge the advanced golfer but can be forgiving to the beginner. The staff was very friendly and accommodating which always makes the experience very nice. However, there has been several reports going back to last month regarding the horrible conditions of the sand bunkers. Sadly it seems there has been no changes. While I was fortunate to avoid most of the bunkers those playing in my group was not so lucky. The bunkers are in dire need of sand and in several cases repair. While most of the greens are in ok condition, several are suffering from a fungus and neglect. I paid $22.00 as part of the Hot Deal on Golf Now so I'm not too upset. The price was about what you would pay for a course in this condition. However, it's hard for me to recommend this course to anyone giving these issues. I would have been happy to pay more if the bunkers and greens were in better condition. I hope they rectify these issues as I would love to come back and play this course again.

Played On 11/10/2013Mayor Dean, Please put this course out of its misery!!
Arrived at the course about 40 minutes early. Course was wide open due to the fact the course is going to be demolished at the end of the year and the course has not been maintained since the summer. Ask the owner to tee off early given that no one was ahead of us. The owner told us we had to wait until our original tee time. When inquiring as to why, he seemed to be upset with the Hot Deal price we received on this site. At one time telling us "you buy cheap you play cheap". So we waited for our tee time watching an empty tee box. This course was part of a country club but given the poor attitude of the owner I totally understand why this club went bankrupt.
The next issue is the condition of the course. The course is expected to be transformed into a green-way. As a result very little maintenance has went into keeping the greens in shape. Several greens have bare spots, fungus or regular grass growing within the putting areas. If you have played Twelve Stones then you can relate. The best thing that can happen to this course is to close it before the attitude of the owner becomes the perception of other Metro golf courses. Mayor Dean, PLEASE put this course out of its misery!!!
Thank you for your review and feedback. We will address it internally as we are constantly working on improving the conditions of our course. It is our #1 goal to satisfy our golfers, so we hope to make these changes in a timely manner and have you back for another round where we can hopefully change your mind.
