Don't understand why they don't use a starter and a ranger

For a course that charges $89/pp on the weekends, I really don't understand why they don't have a starter or a ranger. We arrived 30 minutes before our tee time and were told our group would be teeing off on #10. We were a twosome. We heard the group going off ahead of us on #10 chatting on the putting green and watched them head out. We gave them a few minutes and arrived at the #10 tee box 8 minutes ahead of our tee time. The other twosome that was supposed to be paired with us had not shown up by 5 minutes after our tee time, so we played and left. The foursome in front of us was super slow. Not what you expect from a group teeing off before 7am. We skipped ahead of them after the first 4 holes took over an hour. We had clear sailing for the next 3 holes until we suddenly caught up with another twosome - the group that was supposed to go off with us, but had decided to go out on their own ahead of the first group off the back. This is not the first time I've experienced issues on this course caused by the lack of a starter or a ranger to keep slow groups from ruining the pace of play. Not what you would expect from a course that charges prime $.

Challenging layout, good greens, tee boxes - no so much

Played here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon teeing off with a 12:50 tee time. We went off on time but it took 4:45 minutes to play our round. Prior reviews had claimed the tee boxes were beat up. I wouldn't say they were beat up so much as very few tee boxes offered a flat hitting area. Our foursome continued to comment on how many tee boxes were setup in a way that resulted in a tee shot with a ball above your feet or below your feet. A bit of an annoyance. Greens were in good shape, offered plenty of break, but were fairly easy to read. A lot of vertical up and down on the holes and holes designed forcing you to layup or hit a perfect shot. I liked the layout, my partner did not as he had to leave the driver in the bag on a number of holes. Decent round, but probably wouldn't return given the price point.

Great conditions, challenging greens, ok layout

You can tell this used to be an old country club. Wide fairways, very little OB, and a less than challenging layout. The front and back have been reversed according to my GPS unit. Front plays a little more interesting than the back which just felt like back and forth fairly and relatively straight Greens are in great shape,, relatively fast, with a challenging amount of break. Clearly the highlight of the course. Worth a play.

Walked

Nice Course, Good Condition, Wide Fairways, Rather Flat

Played this course the morning after the Farmington area received about 2 inches of rain. We were required to walk with no advance warning, luckily they had push carts available. In today's technological world, they have your email and phone # with your reservation, so I would expect an email blast early in the morning warning of walking only. Pace of play was still very good, at just under 4 hours, although it looked like there were a fair number of no shows given what the reservation system was showing when we booked versus the reality of how many people were there. Despite the rain, the majority of the course was dry, with only a few holes on the back 9 being a little spongy. Very impressed with how firm the greens were despite all the rain. Grounds crew was busy cleaning up some down trees, so the greens hadn't been cleared of all the debris, which made putting difficult. Otherwise, these greens are in excellent condition, are generally easy to read, and lack any sharp breaks, which gives you a chance to score.

The reality is this course is relatively easy with WIDE fairways which are difficult to miss, and there are very few places where you can hit a ball OB. There are probably 5-6 holes which require an accurate tee shot to stay out of trouble and provide some interest to the layout and shot making skill. Otherwise its just tee it up and hit it out there with little worry.

This is a links style course?

Just because you put a few mounds on the side of a few fairways, does not make it a links style course. Relatively easy layout, although a few narrow fairways. Greens are in very good shape. Only 1 porta-potty on the entire course and all the regular bathrooms are closed due to COVID-19.

Slow slow slow

Weekday afternoon 1:36 tee off time. Made the turn to 10 at 4:45. Unreal. Didn't see a course ranger the entire time. Un-repaired ball marks everywhere and at least 3 greens had serious damage. Looked like not a single person had raked their steps in the sand either.

Great round

My personal opinion is the number of other reviews here that say "tight fairways" are a bit over-exaggerated; certainly not off the tee box unless you are a very long hitter. If they were tight anywhere it was just short of the green where being anywhere off center had you in the sand. Course is in great condition, and for some reason is much less popular than the Ocean Links, which allowed me to reserve a 730 tee time the night before and play a 2.5 hour round and rejoin the family by 1030. Free bag of range balls and friendly staff. Pro shop with wide selection of apparel, balls, shoes, and other accessories.
