A Hidden Gem in the Mountains

A week away in the mountains was made all the better by this beautiful and reasonably priced course. Tons of elevation. Amazing views off the tee boxes. Temperature stays moderate and the fairways are lush. The bunkers are the only drawback, but at this price, I completely ignored them being sub standard and enjoyed the rounds I played without issue. Right from the start you have a long Par 4 with at least 100 yds of elevation gain. It's adjacent to number 10 which plays about the same uphill and is slightly longer. Hole 2 then does a flip flop and gives you about 100 yds downhill off the teebox, but this time it's a Par 5 and water waits about 235-240 out, just 10 yds past the landing area. Then its a full 90 degree turn and another 200 to the green with the water running up the right the whole way home. Easily my favorite hole on the course. There are some fun par 3's sprinkled in as well with massive downhills off the tee. Even the range at Silver Creek has a gigantic down then uphill slope to hit into and some water on the left about 200 out. Great folks in the clubhouse too with a nicely stocked pro shop. Can't oversell the views either. Amazing vistas of the surrounding mountains from all over the course. Truly a hidden gem that I can't wait to get back and play.

Arnie would be proud

The best thing about my round was hanging out with the folks at the clubhouse. It rained non stop. Only had the one day to play and I stuck it out. 4 hours or so later and I finally got on the course. In those 4 hours though, I had one of the best club sandwiches of my life (kudos to the other reviewer that recommended it!) and bought the best pair of golf shoes I've ever owned (Adidas Code Chaos). Was extended a members discount on them as well due to rain ruining my golf day and I thought that was mighty gentlemanly of them. Once I did make it on the course, I was fighting a losing battle against the rain. Tried my best to enjoy it, but we all know how that goes. Course conditions were still playable though and it really is a beautiful course. Challenging, but not so challenging that you feel powerless. Can't wait to get back and play it on a dry day, but I enjoyed my experience none the less. Arnie would definitely be proud of the folks working there and their commitment to making each golfer feel welcomed.

Great experience

Wonderful staff and great service when I got some food at the turn (which was tasty). Course is challenging and in great condition, especially for this time of year. Excited to come back in the spring.

Best value around

You can get better deals on nicer courses through Golfnow, but their base rates are unbeatable for the quality of golf Pinehill offers. Great course design that challenges you but leaves some room for error. It's usually wide open and most holes are well maintained. The folks in the clubhouse are friendly and the gas powered golf carts add some nostalgia.
