Links at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
Played On 11/23/2018Great course for the money
I've played the Links at least a dozen times and always play it when I'm in the area. It's in great condition and the fairways are generally wide and no serious rough. Lots of water on the course but usually doesn't really come in to play unless you totally miss the shot. The staff is great. The only downside is that the rage is very small and limited to irons only because of homes at the far end of the range. Overall, it's just a great course that won't break the bank. I got a Hot Deal for $30 - can't beat that in this area!
Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
Played On 11/22/2018Must-play course
This is probably my favorite course in Sandestin (there are 4 onsite). The course was in beautiful condition and with 5 sets of tees you can match your skill level. The staff was great. The practice area was really nice, with plenty of range and practice green space. The pace of play was great because the rough is short making it easy to find that wayward shot. I play this course every time I'm in the area and can't wait to play it again!
Ballantrae Golf Club
Played On 6/26/2013One of Birmingham's best public courses
fairways are perfect and generally pretty wide open. There are lots of choices for tees, so you can pick what works at your skill level. There are some very interesting and challenging holes, and in some cases some pretty dramatic changes in elevation. The one complaint I might have, and it's minor. is that the greens are really firm, so it's hard to hold the ball sometimes. But they are nearly perfect and roll very true. I'll be back to Ballantrae, and very soon!
