New Berlin Hills Golf Course
Played On 10/05/2021nice course at a fair price
I hadn’t payed this course for several years, but based on a friend’s recommendation I , have played it three times this year. The layout is interesting, difficult but fair.. the condition of this course was excellent, particularly considering the early October date. The fee on TeeOff was very reasonable. We wii be back.
Washington County Golf Course
Played On 07/10/2020Excellent course, great shape
This has always has a been a great course, but the condition was perhaps never better than yesterday. It was a
little more windy than usual, , but, a fun day, nonetheless.
Washington County Golf Course
Played On 06/10/2019Windy but fun
The wind was gusting to probably 35 mph, which made golfing very very difficult and also physically uncomfortable. That said, the course condition, given the amount or rain over the past month, was close to excellent.. I will wait for a much calmer day before I come back, but the layout is always fun, and I will be back..
Broadlands Golf Club
Played On 07/30/2018Nice course, good value
The course was in nice shape and we always enjoy the layout. We played with two nice guys and had a fun afternoon. The only problem we had was that the round took over 4 1/2 hours to complete. We got a favorable rate from GolfNow, which was great. We will be back again
Island at Silver Spring Country Club
Played On 07/16/2018A few quirks, but a nice, well cooked conditioned course.
I hadn’t played there in about fifteen years but I’m glad we did. The weather was nice, the course layout was interesting and the conditioning was good. There were not too many other players, so we our pace of play was excellent, about 3. And 1/2 hours. There were a few gimmicky holes, but also some interesting, challenging holes. The pricing on GolfNow was favorable and we will be back.
University Ridge Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2015Great experience
Always a great experience, with a great layout, elevation change,, tough but fair holes. The course conditions were very good, although the greens were a little scruffy, surprising because they have been really nice in the past.
Riverwood Golf Club
Played On 12/26/2014Enjoyable Round
Happy to get in a round here before the high season and high green fees for this course. A nice layout with many challenging but fair holes. The fairways were in good condition, probably over seeded within the last month or two. The condition of the tees was pretty good but the greens were a little disappointing, somewhat bumpy and scruffy. Even though this course is somewhat tougher than most in this area, if you drive it straight and make good shots over bunkers to somewhat small greens, you can score out here. We had a good time and will return, particularly if we can get another good deal on GolfNow.
Highlands at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
Played On 09/25/2014Great course but slow pace of play
We really had a great day at the Highlands. The layout is great with ample landing areas on most holes, great conditions and tricky, sloping greens. Played the senior tees (around 5700+) yards which made the course very playable for my ability.
We had some concerns with the help we received upon check-in. The guy at the bag drop who seemed very busy, never put my clubs on the cart, so I had to do that myself. Also, the women in the golf shop asked me to prove that we had prepaid. Luckily, I was able to show her the confirmation email on my iPhone. Despite these minor issues, we had a great day and would return .
Fairways of Woodside Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2014Nice round of golf
Very playable front nine followed by a very challenging back nine. Excellent shots are needed on the back nine, which was tough but beautiful. The overall condition was good, with the fairways in nice shape, somewhat bumpy greens and some bare spots on tees. Special thanks to Ben in the pro shop. After another single did not show up for our tee time, Ben was kind enough to set me up to play with a twosome a few minutes later. Since it. Was my first time playing the course, it was helpful playing with these two members, who advised me on aiming points for my drives and other course suggestions.
Mee-Kwon Park Golf Course
Played On 07/17/2014Beautiful park-like setting
Last time I played this course was close to forty years ago, when many of the trees were very small and newly planted. Boy, was it a pleasure to see how beautiful this course has become. Although there is ample fairway width, the elevation changes, side hill lies and downhill lies make it quite challenging. Also, the 6100 plus length which include only one par five on each side make many of the par fours quite long, close to 400 yards. Overall, a very nice experience.
Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch
Played On 05/18/2014Very interesting layout but poor conditions
This is a new course with beautiful surroundings and a great layout, fair to pretty difficult and quite interesting. However, the course conditions were poor. The tees were just okay, the greens very slow and somewhat bumpy and the fairway conditions were poor with many burnt-out areas. It sounded like they were having trouble withthe irrigation system and the fairways were not getting enough water.
As the course conditions improve over the next year or so, this course could become one of the best in the area. However, because of the mediocre conditions, we will definitely wait till next year to try this course again.
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 10/25/2013Nice layout, but relatively poor condition.
Have always enjoyed the course in the past, but this time it was different. The tees, fairways and greens were all in pretty bad shape. I know that they have had a ton of rain this summer and it is well known that the course does not drain well. Still, we had hoped that due to the recent dry conditions, that the course conditions would have been better.
Washington County Golf Course
Played On 7/24/2013interesting, fair course
Very nice practice area, interesting, fair course, well maintained, nice pace of play.
Waterlefe Golf & River Club
Played On 1/13/2013Fun, challenging course with beautiful view of water and preserves
Very interesting and challenging course in nice condition. Played late in the afternoon and wish we would have brought bug spray for some of the last holes on the back nine.
The Highlands has always been my favorite course, and is truly that inspired by the actually "Links" of a Scottish golf course. I have both golfed and worked as Supervisor and a filled in many times on a Beverage and food cart. You are also very correct! I can't tell you how many times someones ball had actually hit my Beverage cart alone. Luckily we had those thick and sturdy Plexi-Glass shields to protect us from the from and back and partially on the sides. Came really close one time though! A ball actually came on in the inside of my cart, and thankfully someone yelled to "Fore" in enough time for me to take cover under my seat, with my arms covering my head. So, yes... There are some blind areas on the Highlands, but it's such a beautiful links! I liked it better than the Brute, but that's just me.
