Nice Local Municipal Course

Had a very enjoyable round at a great price for this time of year. Greens very slow, took some getting used to, but fairways in pretty good shape for the amount of play this course gets. Tee boxes a little beat up, but serviceable. Staff was very friendly. Will be back again.

Enjoyable, open, fun course

Never thought of playing here even though it is not that far away from my home. Must say that it was my mistake not to try this course earlier. Pace of play was a little slow, but everything else was great. Many challenging holes, but not overly difficult. Plays longer that listed yardage due to many doglegs. If you can't drive 220 plus the white tees might be too long for you...par 4's took me three shots to get on many greens. Greens were very slow...took a while to get acclimated. Back nine prettier than front nine. Give it a shot...my guess is that you won't be disappointed. Golf now had some very good deals for this time of year in South Florida.

Fun Course - Amazing Intracoastal Water Way Views

Nothing fancy, but a full size fun course to play. Tee boxes were in poor condition, but fairways and greens were just fine. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Takes a while to figure out how to play the wind since there is a pretty consistent breeze coming off the water . Pretty much had a private course to myself at 3 PM on a Monday. On a hot day the ocean breezes offered welcome relief.

Fun Course Needs Some Serious Repair Work

The price was right on GolfNow so I booked a twosome with my golf buddie. Enjoyed our round, but course had many places where the fairway grass was so worn down to dirt and dust that we had to institute the rule of lift and place wherever you could fine a close-by spot with some grass. Chipping off a bare dirt lie around the green was not fun, especially when you had to loft the ball over a trap. The greens were in fair condition. A little loving care would make this a much better course.

Great Value & Some Beautiful Views

Picked the coldest day of the year to try this course for the first time. Wind chill in the low 40's...I was wearing four layers of clothing and it was still very chilly out there. That said, it was an enjoyable round. Lots of water, some hills which are rare in South Florida, and greens which were in very good condition although rock hard due to the cold weather (balls rolled and rolled if you hit them on the fly). Looking forward to coming back in warmer conditions and having some familiarity with the course...hitting what I thought was a great shot over a hill, to later find out there was water, will hopefully be avoided next time.

Nice Course for a Good Price

Very much enjoyed playing a course with hills and valleys after playing Florida courses all year long. Some very challenging holes with trees and water, but overall a fair course. Always difficult playing a course for the first time, but hope to come this way and try it again.

Old Florida Course...Fun to Play....Good Value

Have played here a good deal over the past two summers. In the winter it is impossibly crowded and slow, but it is a great place to play during the summer months when the crowds are thinner. Not a terribly difficult course, but good for the intermediate golfer who can score well if ball is kept in the fairway. Greens are slow, but well maintained. The rough can be difficult to navigate when it rains and they don't get a chance to mow it before you play. Once mowed it is a fair penalty if you drift off the fairway. Traps are decent for South Florida..not white fluffy soft sand, but not terrible. The course is shorter than the listed distances...good for the mid-range driver of the ball. Overall a fun course to play.

East Course Difficult & Long but in Perfect Condition

My group usually plays the #3 tees on the West Course. The West course is shorter and in our opinion less difficult, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the East Course. We found the greens in great condition, but difficult to keep our shots from any distance holding the green. Eventually I started pitching and chipping with my lob wedge instead of my usual sand wedge which helped...wish I would have had the sense to do it a little sooner in the round. The fairways are in absolutely perfect condition as were the tee boxes. My thanks to Golfnow for making this course affordable. We will be back...most likely on the shorter West Course.

Beautiful Course...Perfect Weather.

Can't say enough about the perfect condition this course was in. Greens perfectly manicured, fairways spotless, wonderful warmup and practice facility, all in all a great golfing experience. Have played here before, but unfamiliarity with the quirks of the course cost me a bunch of strokes. Played from white tees which were a little long for me, especially for the longer par 4's, but my pitching and chipping skills allowed me to put up a respectable score. Greens had lots of levels which made lag putting a challenge, but the ball rolled perfectly and the speed was just perfect...not too fast, not too slow. I will be back!

Challenging...multi level greens..some interesting holes

Play here fairly regularly. Love the first and eighteenth holes. Lots of water to hit over, and many greens have multiple levels making them an interesting challenge. Quality of sand could be better....many traps have only a thin layer of soft sand making a splash shot out difficult. Staff always friendly and helpful. Nice practice putting green.

Very Well Maintained Course with Excellent Greens

Haven't played here all winter because of the high prices, but it's summer in South Florida and reasonable rates are abundant. Fairways are no longer rock hard as they were a couple of years ago when the course was new. They are still very firm, so you do get considerable roll. If you can stay either on the fairway or just off it (first cut of rough is not a problem) it is possible to put up a pretty decent score. Severe pulls or pushes result in big penalties as you wind up in impossible to find the ball or hit out of brush. Greens are very large, so good lag putting is also at a premium. Some really wonderful views overlooking water and a warm but cooling breeze in the late afternoon. Nice practice facility to warm up before the round. I will definitely be back soon.

Surprising Challenging from back tees...very good condition.

Hadn't played here in a number of years, so when I great rate was offered I gave it a try. While only 6000 yards from the back tees, it feels longer. The fairways have either water or trees on both sides. Paid dearly for my fades/sliced shots off the tee. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were good. While this course is not on the top of my list, it is definitely worth playing for the right price.

Cypress in Great Shape but Pace Very Slow

After playing the Oaks earlier in the week my foursome booked a tee time for the Cypress Course on the way out at a great twilight rate. We teed off at 3 PM on the nose, usually plenty of time to finish a round by 7:30 this time of year. It was a perfect day weather wise, no holdup here. The course was in excellent condition. The fairways were far superior to those on the Oaks. The sand traps were also in very good condition. The greens were in fine condition, but somewhat slow. To be fair we did play after a day's growth. The course itself was quite beautiful and challenging. Our only complaint was the pace of play. There appeared to be a number of foursomes where the level of skill was far below what was necessary to negotiate the challenges posed by this course. That translated into a deathly slow pace. After playing 14 holes in a little over 4 hours we gave up and called it a day. I know there isn't a test to see if you should be able to play a difficult course (and I could fail it myself on any given day), but playing behind a large number of inexperienced golfers for endless hours can ruin any golf experience, no matter how nice the course. Will come back later this year and try again, because the course itself was really great.

Mighty Oaks OK but not Mighty

Booked a great deal for a 3 PM start time. Price was unbeatable and with daylight saving time we were able to finish 18 with no problems. The fairway was very thin, not much grass under the ball. This made pitching and chipping difficult. The pace started out slow, but got faster on the back nine. The layout was challenging, but fair....not too difficult, but punishing if you didn't stay in the fairway. Not a premier course anymore, but certainly worth playing for the right price.

Nice course, good value, enjoyed layout

First time in over a year I played a round at the Woodlands East. The course has a challenging, but fair layout. The greens were in very good condition, some interesting pin placements. The sand traps had really good sand...something not that common in many courses in South Florida. Fairways were also in excellent condition. Only bad spot were a number of tee boxes which were in not very good shape...sand and a lack of grass. Overall a very nice experience on a not very crowded course on a Thursday afternoon.

Beautiful Course, Excellent Greens & Fairways

This was only the second time I have played here, but my experience was as memorable as the first time. This course has lots of challenges for golfers of all levels, but it is fair if you hit the ball well. The greens are well trapped, and there is plenty of water to hit over. This provides many opportunities, as well as potential disappointments. The greens were well conditioned, and the ball rolled smoothly. The fairways were also in excellent shape. A major plus was the excellent driving range, putting green, and chipping area enabling you to warm up before your round. Play was a little slow on the back nine, but that's what you can expect on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in season. My only negative comment is that the sand traps had a very thin layer of sand. This made controlling shots out of the traps more difficult than necessary. However, this was a rather small blemish for a beautiful course, and I highly recommend you signing up to play a round.

What a disappointment.

Finding a reasonable round this time of year can be difficult. I had not played on Bonaventure West for a few years, but remembered it as a challenging, decently maintain course. It's still challenging, but the level of maintenance has gone to new lows. The green were spotty and had crabgrass. Several of the tee boxes were pure dirt with not a blade of grass to be found. The primary rough was also poorly maintained. If you are paying their rates there are much better maintained courses around for the same money.

Wonderful Short Game Practice Course

This was the first time I have played here since they put in new greens. Gave up going here two years ago because of the deplorable condition of the greens. Must say that the greens are now in excellent shape....small and hard to hit, but putting is a pleasure once you do get on. Unlike many executive courses, there are a decent number of holes where you can use a driver...a real plus. Fairways are in decent condition. The primary downside is the pace of play. Should not take over four hours to complete a round on a short course, but it does. I like to use it as a practice round and most likely don't belong on this course as a regular. The very slow players are on a course designed for them...if I wanted to play at a faster pace I would go to the Championship Course. However, if I am looking for a short game practice round, and have the time to spare, this course nicely fits the bill.

Very Fair, Yet Challenging Course

This is one of my favorite courses in South Florida. It gives a golfer at my level the opportunity to put up a good score if I play well. Greens are in absolutely fabulous condition. The fairways were redone a few years ago and are very well conditioned. Fairways are wide and greens are pretty open, so if you hit it straight there are lots of chances to score a par or better. Some of the greens are easy to hit because of their enormous size, but easy to three put from 60 to 70 feet away. I also like the ability to buy a small bucket of balls at a reasonable price to warm up before a round. Finally, the practice green is one of the best around. Enjoy!
