Copsewood Grange Golf Club
Played On 04/04/2022Still Good Value!
First time back at Copsewood since June 2021, course is in great shape and despite it being an early afternoon slot on a weekday, it was very busy.
Went round with 2 friendly members who invited me to join them to speed things up. They told me Copeswood has gained a lot of members from Brandon GC closing , as it’s still the best value club in local area, but the downside to that is, it’s very popular and 9 holes took just over 2 hours.
All in all , you can’t really moan as it’s still great value for less than £20 a round.

This course has the potential to be phenomenal but a few little things just let it down.
A few of the greens have bald patches and the rough needs cutting back in some areas to minimise time wasted on looking for errant balls.
One green was on temporary surface when I played.
The course is skirted by the River Avon and because of this has suffered in winter from flooding, it’s led to some fairways being a bit spongy , whilst others are rock hard.
The bunkers have sand in them but as they’ve been filled with water , the sand is compacted and needs re-raking and some of the rakes provided are broken, like wise the ball cleaners provided have not been re-filled with water and the intermittent litter bins need emptying.
That said it’s good value for money and for a council owned municipal can hold its own against more expensive local courses.
It’s a shame as the course itself is a really good test of golf , despite these minor issues .
