The Timber Links at Denton
Played On 01/15/2015Hidden Gem in Denton
Played Timber Links and went on the best day, at the best time. It was very enjoyable. The turns, the ups and downs and the design made it interesting, but was glad it wasn't crowded. It's a nice neighborhood course, and will almost certainly return.
Stewart Peninsula Golf Course
Played On 09/04/2014Nice upgrades
Stewart Peninsula is moving from being a good place to get in a quick 9 to being a much improved facility, and a good place to go play. It's always been fairly challenging, with some tough carries and a couple of narrow fairways. Now, with the vastly improved dining and entertainment facilities, they can generate enough money to keep improving. Staff is always friendly, and SP is a very relaxing place to play. When the lake comes back up, the summer site seeing will also improve.
The Courses at Watters Creek - Player's Course
Played On 05/18/2014Quick trip and worth the price
First time to play the "kids" course, but was with a colleague who does not play as much. We were done in less than 4 hours, even with some waiting. The lay out providing plenty of challenging shots, and allowed the full range of clubs to be used. Staff was very friendly, and helpful.
The Trails of Frisco Golf Club
Played On 04/02/2014A Good Challenge
Enjoyable round on a nice day. Got paired up with a congenial person, and will be ready to play again. Will likely participate in their frequent player offer.
Lakes at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 12/4/2013wished we'd gone somewhere else.
Arrived about 25 minutes early, and saw my playing partner on the range. Checked in, staff told me my partner had a cart. Lugged clubs to practice area, and discovered no cart. Went back, retrieved cart and lined up. No beer cart, crowded and a course being repaired. It needs it. The Number 8 tee was marked "17, " which I guess adds up to 8 (1+7). Price should have reflected conditions. Wished we played somewhere else.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 11/24/2012Decent course, usually fair prices
Frisco Lakes is a good course, and it's worst feature is one they appear to be working on fixing-the sand traps. Two sand traps are always very nice, but the rest are not. If they finish the work and upgrade the other traps to be as good as the best two, it will be a very nice course. We were in shock as we actually had a refreshment cart visit us in the middle of both nines (it's been a running joke with our usual foursome that the carts only went from 1 back to 18 and then hid in the clubhouse for three hours).
