Maggie Valley Resort & Country Club
Played On 10/15/2022Beautiful Mountain Course
Fun and beautiful mountain course. Was a little slow on a Saturday afternoon but in nice shape. Have to room to hit it but nice and challenging around greens and being below hole was critical. Front nine has a little more room with back being the "mountain" 9 holes are more tricky. Worth a stop
Golf Club of Indiana
Played On 10/10/2022Tough track, very difficult greens
Played back too far (don't we all?). Lots of tough pins and angles. Kind of course where you want to attack and be close to greens because a lot easier place to play with wedge vs 6 iron. leaving yourself 40 footers will lead to a long day (think greenskeeper had a bad night). But it is a fun layout, with some really fun holes.
Carolina Lakes Golf Club
Played On 09/18/2022Great layout, service and pace
If you have not heard, they lost their greens but seems they are doing everything to bring them back (sand, punched them, putting some water on them). We moved our ball on most greens and could find a path to putt. That being said, everything else about the day was great. Love the layout and starter was helpful and great. Lots of great holes - but not for walkers.
The Cape Club of Palm City
Played On 04/10/2021Very difficult challenge
If you are looking for a challenge, where you have to work on every shot for 18 holes. this is the course. Requires accuracy and touch. Course is in excellent condition and the staff could not have been nicer. Greens were fast and rolling very true. Just a tough layout with no misses. Almost every hole is precise, generally with water left and scrub and trees (OB) right, the course requires excellent ball striking and precise challenge. Great course to go to if you like to grind out a round but not the best choice for higher handicap players especially if you spray the ball.

Played On 04/08/2021Nice course, open, fast greens
Nice layout. Dry - lots of run. Greens were running fast - have to stay below hole

Edgewater Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2021Great day
Edgewater always has a good pace of play. February - very wet, but expected without warm temps yet this year. Mix of challenging holes but two good shots and you have some chances for birdies. Each time I have played there - golfers are courteous and paired up with some good folks.
Thank you for reviewing the course. We're glad you found the pace of play during your round excellent. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you for playing Edgewater Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
The Saints At Port St Lucie
Played On 03/01/2014Play early, great day!!!
Very muni feel, and lots of fun, but the place was packed by 9am. We teed off early, and had a great day. Even though we waited on many shots, played in under 4 hours. Conditions were average to good, but the practice areas were in need of some love. Greens were a little inconsistent and on the slow side, but to be expected for the type of course. Great and pretty challenging front. Sneaky. But back 9 was lackluster, where many holes seemed the same. Definitely a good value vs the reduced cost. Can put up a good number but have to hit the ball early with 4 good holes to start.
Remington Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2014Good Course, Slow Play
Staff was nice enough inside and starter. Played on a Friday where there is an all you can play fee, and the groups just come from 18 to 1. Incredibly slow play on front nine. We went back a couple of times just to keep playing. And ended up going from 7 to 2 and replayed some of the front. But some good holes, and course was in fair condition (get what you pay for).
Course is a good value but pace of play was very slow.
Pinehurst Resort & Country Club - No. 9
Played On 11/9/2012Great 4 hours
Had a perfect day. Course was in great shape, and pace was good. Staff was friendly, highlighted by a great starter's speech which started off with "those white stakes people use to mark their property, those are not OB stakes. If you can find it, you can play it...." Unless you are scratch golfer, the Blue tees are all you want. Lots of longer irons into crowned greens. A MUST is getting the ball on the right level as the green undulation is huge. Course was in beautiful shape. Played on a super saver - and that was a great value. Resembles in condition and layout to Pinehurst #7 and #8 but is more difficult
The Fort Golf Resort
Played On 10/15/2012Challenging, solid layout
The Fort was a challenging course, with tricky greens. Played with the track aerated (unofrtunately) but the greens rolled fairly true tnd were fast. From the blue tees, the back 9 gets long towards the end and you need to keep the ball straight on certain holes. Great test, but played a little slow on a crowded Monday.....
keswick26, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing The Champion Turf Club at St. James. We hope to see you again soon!
