The Country Club at Soboba Springs
Played On 07/13/2014Course is a good value for the money
Overall the course reminds me of a good muni course more than a country club. I will say the locker rooms are extremely nice. The course was in good shape considering it is July and for 30.00 bucks on GolfNow.com I'd surely play it again. The greens are very receptive and shots hold well. You can score well on this course, I made 4 birdies on the front 9 and one was nearly a hole in one. If I'm in the area I'd play it again.
Eagle Glen Golf Club
Played On 07/12/2014Pace of play is horrendous
On a Saturday with the 10:10 AM tee time the round took nearly 5 1/2 hours. A round of golf should never take that long. Courses in decent condition and is not super difficult. Pick the right set of tees and you should be the to score fairly well. Condition was good for the time of year and water shortage in the state of California.
Eagle Glen Golf Club
Played On 07/12/2014Decent course that's easier than it appears
The pace of play was horrible 5:30 for a round of golf anywhere is absurd. Overall the course is pretty good and fair. Coupe of quirky holes but nothing to out of the normal. Fairways are generous though if you are having a bad day it could be punishing. This is more of a target course, however very few home on the course even though it's in a residential neighborhood. I would play it again.
Pacific Grove Golf Links
Played On 06/14/2014Great Value
Where else can you play for 60 bucks on a weekend and have holes right on the ocean with ocean views on the entire back nine? Certainly nowhere that I know of. This course is always fun and gives a variety of shots. Mid handicappers can break 80 with some smart play. Higher handicaps will still have a great time. This is generally on our play list when we head over to Monterey for a weekend.
Inverness Hotel & Golf Club
Played On 05/19/2014Very nice course
I really liked the course. It was in great shape although they are doing some work on several holes. Condition was very good and the greens rolled true.
Pine Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/18/2014Not a great course or value
This course was average at best. Condition was on the low side. Greens were shaggy and very slow. Winds through a housing development but there was ample room to hit shots even if they were not perfect. I would probably skip it if I were in the area to play again.
Carmel Valley Ranch Resort
Played On 04/14/2014Very nice course and facility
Played here as part of an NCGA two day tournament. This is a nice course that wanders through houses and condos. You must place your shots on this course. Greens are decent size and roll well. There are some elevation changes that can be tricky. Play it in the morning as the wind tends to pick up in the afternoon. It can be foggy on the coast and be sunny and nice just a few miles away, both times it was exactly the case.
