Great Experience!

As a PGA Professional I have had the opportunity to play the most elite courses in the country including Cypress Point, Olympic Club and Chicago Golf Club to name a few. To me, those are the type of courses that receive 5 star ratings and that is why Celebration did not receive 5 stars. However, the course was in great condition and I was very happy with the experience. Keep up the good work and I look forward to returning soon.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear

Course layout is great. It really makes you think about your shots. However, the greens were extremely slow and very fuzzy considering we haven’t had rain in a very long time. Fairways were average for a public course. Overall, good experience and I will play again just because of the layout. I really wish the greens were faster because then it would be a must play course. Right now though, it’s just so, so.

Better service

Not sure where to start! Course received 3.5 inches of rain the night before so it was cart part only, but we weren’t informed. No big deal, I’ve played in those conditions before. Since I work at a premier golf resort, I understand tee sheets. We were paired with a single at the last minute, which I understand. What I don’t understand is why they would send out a single right behind us and have him on our tails the entire front 9. The single was in the green side bunker while we were on the green putting! What should have happened is either pair us as a fourball or pair the two singles together! This day was definitely not the happiest place on turf. I almost quit after 9 but luckily the single, who was reluctant to play through, even though he might as well have been playing with us, decided to play through. The round got better until we caught the two ball in front of us. Pace of play was 4:45 which is ok as long as everyone is keeping up or not hounding the group in front. I won’t be back for awhile even though I usually enjoy Disney courses. Or, I’ll make sure to bring a foursome to avoid the paring issues.

Really?

I’m wondering what other courses some of the people writing reviews have played? I literally was looking for cows and goats in the fairways because that’s all this place is…a cow pasture. But to give it a four star rating is absolutely beyond my comprehension. A five star rating is something that is excellent. Which means a four star rating is very close to that. This course is a one star and that’s being generous. Bay Hill is four stars. Orange Tree is four stars. TPC Sawgrass is 4 stars. Does everyone think this course is on the same planet as those because I surely do not. Nor do I think the aforementioned courses are 5 stars, so there is no way in H E double hockey sticks that this place is four stars! The layout is awful, the greens roll at a snails pace, and the fairways are some of the worst I’ve seen. So, reviewers, please spend a little money and go play at least a 3 star course such as a Disney course…because that’s what those are and Scotlands Yards will definitely yield a one star from the next review. BTW, I’m not being mean or argumentative, I’m being brutally honest.

Waste of Time

I hate to give a negative review, but this course is nothing short of horrible. Anyone who gives anything more than 2 stars should is absolutely lying through their teeth! We had to wait 4 minutes in between every shot, the fairways are terrible, and the greens aren’t recovered from punching. Even if they were, the superintendent puts the pins in stupid spots on the greens. It’s just not fun to play a round of golf when waiting that long in bad conditions. My recommendation is stay away until someone does something about this. Go play somewhere else and actually have fun. By the way, this review has nothing to do with how I played because I shot 2 over. This is only about conditions and the experience which was horrible.

Always a Pleasure

My wife and I play here periodically and the course is always in good shape and the staff always friendly. Greens were exceptionally good, hard and fast today, yet they would still hold a high enough shot. Fairways were hard and firm yet a divot could be taken. Being a PGA Professional, I usually don’t pay to play courses if enough notice is given, however, I have no problem at all paying to play Big Cypress! Keep up the great conditions and the great staff! I would recommend this course to all of my associates! Nice work!

Marshall’s????

Decent shape today with the greens receptive and rolling pretty good. Started on the back nine and upon making the turn, a single jumped in between 2 twosomes. Ok, no big deal, until he started playing 3 and 4 balls while we waited 10 minutes in between every shot. That’s what a driving range is for, not the course. Other than that the course was fine for the price. I probably won’t go back because it’s just not as good of a course that I normally play, but I was in a pinch and wanted to play. But, it’s a good value but not good pace today. That might not be indicative of other days though.

Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the course conditions to be in decent shape during your game. Your feedback about the price of our course is important to us. We always want to make sure we are offering golfers a competitive price for their round. It is our goal to give visitors the best chance to get out and play more. Thank you for playing Heritage Isles Golf and Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.

Just your average course. Nothing spectacular. Not a bad course, it’s just one that I probably won’t go back and play because it’s just “ok”. Conditions were average as well including the greens. Very slow but in good condition.

Good Course

Good Course but not great. Second review and fairway condition was improved. Greens are green but slow and fuzzy. It’s a great layout but needs some love to get back to where it used to be. There are better manicured course for the price but not layout. It’s a fun track and deserves a look.

Not what it used to be

The course has changed dramatically over the years. Too many rental properties with loud music blaring, tons of people, just not a good vibe. Course was not in good shape and pace of play was awful. Had 4 deep on par threes with no ranger in sight. Waited 10 minutes to tee off on all holes. I hadn’t been there in about a year and I won’t be back anytime soon.

Good Course

Drove from Lakeland because I feel that East Coast Courses are better than Central or West Coast. This is an average course at a little over 6700 from the tips. Greens were in good shape but just not fast enough for my liking. Fairways were also in good shape but they aren’t Lost Tree or Seminole shape, so I am a bit of a golf course snob. Pace was great with a foursome in front and no one behind. I could take my time and work on some things without feeling rushed or slowed too much. No cart girl, but I don’t play golf to critique the restaurant or cart service,. I’m there to play golf and hopefully the course is in good condition. The Florida Club is in very good condition and I recommend to go play it.

Of course the greens aren't lost tree or seminole. Obviously your an uninformed golf snob if you expected them to be. Florida Club is a great public track with great value.

Wet!

Was not notified prior that it was cart path only. But that didn’t stop the foursome in front to drive all over the course, ripping the fairways up and then parking nearly in top of the green! Also, there was a single behind us that would drive the ball to about 50 yards from us and then stand outside his cart waving his club around. Apparently golf etiquette has been eliminated and only insensitive idiots play now! Things like this take away from the course and make the round not enjoyable, especially for $70 in a weekday! Definitely not worth that.

Great Track!!!

Drove 2 hours to play Meadowood the day before only to find out they were closed! No call, no alert, nothing! Kudos to Meadowood and Golfnow! Played Sandridge instead and had a great time. Played Palm Cove Sunday morning and was cart path only. Some holes were ok but generally was pretty saturated due to an inch of rain the night before. Great course from the tips! Greens were solid, fairways plush, tee boxes pretty good. I’ll drive 2 hours anytime for a course like Palm Cove. Only drawback are the idiot weekend warriors that don’t obey cart path only and drive all over the course, tearing it up. (Foursome begins us). These individuals should be banned from playing the game. Respect the course and respect the game. Enjoy Palm Cove! It’s a shorter track that’s tests shot making ability! but is very fair.

You get what you it for

For starters, and I literally mean the starter, must have been passed over when they were giving out personalities! He’s one of those guys you just want to go off on! The course is a city track that normally is in horrible condition but lately has been in pretty decent shape. The locals that play here however, think it’s Torrey Pines or TPC Sawgrass because of their pretentious attitudes. Yet they show iup in cargo shorts and tee shirts that are untucked and hats turned around backwards. Golf is a traditional sport for ladies and gentlemen so we should wear the proper attire and wear it correctly! After the round is a bar and grill...1916, that’s fabulous. Again, for $25, it’s worth dealing with the people if you’re as serious about golf as I am.

We are so sorry for your negative experience at CHGC. I will address the issue with the starter. We know that we are not Torrey Pines/TPC Sawgrass, but we are proud of GHGC and it's history. We are a municipal facility where folks can wear cargo shorts and a golf hat frontwards or backwards. We want the game to be fun for folks and bring new golfers into the game to keep it growing. I have had many folks that were first time visitors come into my office and tell me how welcomed they felt here at CHGC. They say that CHGC reminds them of their golf course at home. We hope to see you back at CHGC soon and give me a call at 863-834-2379 before you come back. We want to make your next visit a very positive one. Brock Witmyer (GM)

Great layout for mid to low handicaps. Anyone with a 12+ will have a very difficult time. The conditions were decent. Greens were verticut but rolled ok, probably about an 8 on the meter. Fairways were decent and there were a few tee boxes that need major attention but it’s a tee box so no big deal. Staff was great with no issues. Disney Palm and Magnolia are in better shape for a little less money but I think this course has a more difficult layout. It was an enjoyable round but it won’t be the first place I consider for my next round, and I play 4 times a week.and a 2 handicap so I may be a little snobbish regarding courses. Celebration. Is a decent track but needs just a little attention to bring it back to where it used to be.

Loved it!

Very good experience at the Palm Course. I have played all Disney courses as well as Tranquillo numerous times. The Palm Course has the best character. Greens were good but not great. Fairways were good but not great. This was the second time in a week that I played Palm. I went back because of the first round there....spectacular! I was not disappointed with the second round either. To everyone that reads the reviews to decide where to play, go play any of the Disney Course! They are all a great value and wonderful tracks.

Finally!!!

Finally a course that is actually worth playing! I have played Oak Marsh, North Hampton, Lone Palm, Palmer Legacy and ChampionsGate International in the last 5 days. International Course is hands down in the best shape. The other courses are decent to good condition wise and possibly better layouts. But if you’re looking for a well manicured course, this is it. Go play it and enjoy, but beware of the green speed. If you’re over a single digit handicap, the greens will test your nerves. Go play and enjoy!

Where’s the Grass

Is it really that difficult to grow grass on a golf course? Is grass seed that expensive? From what I experienced, this course should be pristine because it was packed so it’s not a matter of funding. It’s about not caring to put back into the course. The reviews regarding this course prior to this one are 100% inaccurate. I base where I play on the reviews of the condition of the course. The reviews stated that the course was in good shape, tee boxes were good and that the greens rolled true.. I’m here to tell everyone those statements are false. I play 4-5 times per week all over the state of Florida and all types of courses from elite private to resorts to municipal. I’m a 2 handicap so maybe my expectations are greater than the average weekend warrior but I’ll guess we all want the same thing when we play...GRASS!!! And when possible, nice greens!!! This course has neither!
