Big Disappointment

I went to this course because I saw this course is player's choice course. I had no idea how did this course qualify for that?!

To be blunt, this is not a normal golf course. It's stuck in a housing community and it's about 5000 yards in length. The layout is awkward! it's narrow with a lot of obstructions of trees. And for many holes you have to take blind shots.

The course condition is very poor! the grass is dying! Only good part is the green is in so so condition.

It's my first time play here and it will also be my last time!

Well designed challenging course

I heard the course and I watched professionals played the course for the championship. I finally played it myself. It's amazing experience!

The entire PGA West community is a golfer's dream place! So well designed courses and houses filled the area. It's quite a scene!

The club house is nice and the staffs from club house, starter and marshal are all very nice.

As for the course, I'm a 20 plus handicap. So people like me do not care so much about the scores. It's very difficult course filled with enormous bunkers and waters. So have to put your ball at the very precise place or your next shot will be very difficult to play. The green is fast, not professional tournament fast, though.

I enjoyed play there again in near future and other courses in the PGA West. I will check the golfnow often to find the good deals. Or, the regular price is around $ 200/round. It's not cheap.

Nice course

Have heard Oak Creek for long time but unable to play it because of rather high price (weekends, $150). I used my reward got from golfnow to play finally! It's a good course. But I have to say it's for people with some extra bucks to spare. The course is not difficult. The layout is OK, straight forward, not much challenges. I'm a 20 plus handy-caper. So I scored 90 easily. The staffs are very friendly, from bag drop, check-in, starters and all other people you met on the course. The amenities are good, too. Eating, drinking and restrooms are well positioned. I saw some people say the course recently is in bad shape. I found that was wrong. Although grass/fairway has some yellowish, on the whole, the course is well maintained. The green is in good shape and they are difficult. I got 6 3-put! Otherwise my score could be better! I enjoy play here and I wish they offer some discount so I can play here more often!

A GOOD CHALLENGING COURSE, TO ME

I played the course 3 years ago when it's not open to public yet. I like the course but it's a little far away from downtown Los Angeles (where I'm living). And of course, it's not open to public.

It's open to public about half year ago (if I remember it right). I played once and it's disaster to me. I played badly so I came back to play it again.

The only complaint I have is the pace of play. It's rather slow.

The course is challenging. If you play the back tee, it's rather long. Many holes with around 400 yards (some par 3 holes around 200 yards). It's OK to play 400 yards hole on regular flat course. It's built in a hill and valley. There are a lot of elevation changes. The fairway is narrow and most of them are not on the even ground. You have to know the course to know where to put the ball and, of course, you have to put ball at those areas. Or, you score will be ugly. That was what my score card looks like last time, ugly!

The green is fast. I think the grass was taken a toll by recent California drought. The fairway grass is not green but it's OK.

On the whole I like the course. My score this time got improvement, too. If you are close by the course and like the challenging, come to play. Of course, you have to give yourself plenty of time as I mentioned the pace of play is slow. I hope the course can think of way to make change on that.

Like the course

It's a good course which I played many times recently.

Everything is fine but the pace of play is little too slow. Other than this, I will recommend this course to everyone.

Golf course, or dirt tennis course?

I've been told Lost Canyon is a good golf course. I finally played last Saturday. But I found out I did not play a golf course but dirt tennis course!

1. There is no mentioning of golf course condition on the golfnow booking web page.
2. There is no grass on fairway. Gross all dead, yellow and many places no gross at all!
3. Only green is green. Tee box area has grass but poor maintained.
4. bunkers no sand.

I didn't play well. I'm afraid that I may damage my clubs because stones, small pebbles on the fairway.

Lost canyon has 2 18-hole courses. I think for some reason, they only maintain one course well but leave the other one (shadow course) unattended.

One thing "pleased " me. My drive got longer. My regular driving is 200 yards. But yesterday, some of my drives went almost 300 yards. Balls just kept going, none stop, ON THE DIRT!

Good course, good value

It's my second time play this course. The course is well maintained. It's a short course, but the fairway is narrow. Many holes with "blind green", you can't see green at tee box. the green is also some kind of multi-tier. to make par you have to put your ball at right place. The day I played, the wind is very strong, typical for a course at the foot of hill, valley. I did not play well, over 90's. But I will come back.

A Great challenging course

Heard people talked about Coyote Hills golf course. This is my first time I played here. The course is well maintained, though few fairway's grass is little yellowish. Green is fast and excellent.

If someone play Coyote Hill course, he must mention hole # 7, a couple of hundreds feet drive to the fairway below from the tee box. It's great, great view, fun hole to play. Once you put ball on the fairway, the next will be easy. We played from gold tee box, the fairway looks so narrow. And we also have probably 20 mile side wind. I got a par on that hole.

My rest holes were not so great. The fairway is narrow, either mountain on one side or trees on the other. I lost several balls. Many holes, you can't see green from tee boxes. It's challenging course to me. I will come back play again.

Challenging course

I play this course few times a year. It's little far from where I live but I like to play here.

When the course is in its best condition, this is a very nice course. It's a rather long, challenging course require accuracy.

The staff are very nice and the course offers many discounted rounds.

The only complain I have is that many times, the play pace is very slow. Part because it's challenging and people spent time to look for their balls.

Again, I like the course and I will come back again, and again...

a nice, challenging course

It's my first time played here. It's not very long course. 6 par 3. But to me, it's a practical course. My iron and shot game is off recently. I tried to use the course to practice my iron accuracy. I found my swing tempo.

The course is well maintained. The green is in excellent condition. The price is a bargain for the weekends.

I like the course and I will come back.
