I live in Ladysmith so it was a bit of a drive but well worth it. The course is an amazing condition and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. It’s a fantastic the layout and I found myself just standing there looking at the beautiful scenery around me sometimes.
There was a little snack bar by the 10th tea, I think that’s where it was. My dad and I got a smoky and it was delicious too!
The finishing touch were the deer around the 18th green. I swear if I had a handful of feed they would’ve come right up and eaten it out of my hand!
Far superior to many courses I’ve played and I will definitely be back!

It’s about time I wrote a review for Houston National. I have been golfing there for over 13 years and I have watched of course transform.
The staff in the clubhouse are always friendly and even some of the guys doing work out on the course remember you and say hello. I have seen some employees there for many years which hopefully speaks volumes of the work environment.
The layout is amazing with it’s rolling hills, undulating fairways and greens(several elevated) that always prove to be fast and roll true.
This is definitely a risk/reward Golf course. Hitting the fairways is VERY rewarding. After playing a few times and getting to know the lay out a little better you can really start to improve your score. I find it easier to play other courses after honing my game here.
This course is a gem, no two holes the same. Hole 9 is my nemesis! Holes 16, 17, and 18 are three of the most challenging and fun finishing holes in the city. A part three, four and finally a par five that will challenge the advance golfer.
I have brought dozens of people to this course over the years and all of them have loved it because of its design and features. It will challenge you on your best day but will always bring you back!
I recently went on a road trip and golfed in a lot of cities around the United States at some pretty nice courses. Houston National still remains one of my favorite courses since the time I started swinging the clubs.
My wife and I have spent hundreds of hours of absolute quality time with y’all. I golf, she enjoys the scenery and wildlife.

I have been golfing at Cypress Lakes Golf for over 10 years now. The staff are always friendly and somehow they manage to keep the course in amazing condition year round.
I played after many days of heavy rain and the fairways were superb and the greens LIGHTENING FAST.
I recently moved out of the state and have been playing courses in the Pacific Northwest. There are some gems but Houstonians, y’all have it sooo nice down here.
I come back all the time for family, golf, food, golf and of course golf.
Cypress Lakes is always on the top 3 I HAVE to play every single time I come home.

The course layout is incredible but unfortunately they are not taking advantage of that. There is no grass on the fairways which makes it very difficult for your approach shots to the elevated greens. Also very interesting elevated fairways on some holes. The greens look beautiful but roll slower than any greens I have ever played. I am a low handicapper and anyone without an expert wedge game will find it nearly impossible to chip off of zero grass around the greens. This would be a fantastic course if the owners would invest in some grass seed. Too many great courses in the area to play this morning and. I would rather pay five dollars or $10 more and play a couple miles away at much better courses. They had a great club sandwich so I gave the course one extra star for that.

We loved playing this course. It was absolutely gorgeous. There is water on 16 out of 18 holes so bring a few extra balls just in case. The fairways are well groomed and the greens roll pretty true. The bunkers could use a little better sand and the tee boxes need a little TLC but other than that I would play this course again and again. Apparently it was a little rough in years past but they have done a really good job of bringing it back. Will definitely play next time I'm in Florida!

This is one of the nicest courses I have played but we were all very shocked by the fact that there were not coolers of cold water around the golf course. I believe there were three or four elementary school type water fountains. Not nearly enough to keep you hydrated during the hot summer and we play on the hottest days of the year. I was tempted to drink out of one of the ponds at one point in the round and we all left lightheaded.

I have played here once before about 2 years ago. It will not be another 2 years before I go back! The conditions are great and the greens roll true. Cut in the middle of the forest, there are lots of opportunities to get into trouble and lots of chances for birdies and pars!
I love this course. it is a bit of a drive for me but well worth it. I strongly recommend this course to anyone looking for a relaxing get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Great layout and lots of holes make you think about club selection due to elevations and doglegs. The greens were pretty good but kind of sandy. Must have worked on them recently. I just wish the Hot Deal Tee Times on GolfNow were earlier and I would play more often. Long drive back to Houston in rush hour traffic.

Great fairways, fantastic greens and very nice sand in the bunkers. This course is definitely in great condition and deserves the reputation it has earned. I just can't afford to play it very often as it costs as much as up to 3 or 4 rounds at some other great courses on golf now. Meadowbrook Farms and High Meadow Ranch are both just as nice for less money even though they are not on Golfnow.

Plush fairways, pretty quick greens that roll very true and overall a very good golf experience. Loved the course layout and will definitely play again!

I really enjoyed my round at Country Place and it was in pretty good shape. The fairways are very bumpy which can make for some interesting bounces. Nice water hazards around the course but the greens need some pretty serious attention. They actually roll pretty well but are not in very good condition. Would give 3.5 stars if it were an option. The staff were some of the nicest I have ever encountered. James was very patient in giving me directions 5 times while I was busy getting lost on my way to the course. Double check directions because the ones printed from the GolfNow directions link and completely wrong coming from the Katy direction as the exit listed off of the Beltway does not exist.

What a beautiful course! Surrounded by protected wetlands and bird sanctuary, this is an amazing golf experience. The fairways are in excellent condition and the greens roll well. I have played faster greens but not many with more tiers and undulations. LOVE this place! Well worth the trip from Houston and bring a buddy to share the experience with.

This course has a fantastic layout but is in horrible condition. There are little to no fairways. I like fast greens that roll true and these greens are fast. The only problem is that they have no grass on them! I hit at least 12 greens in regulation only to have the ball bounce off like it had hit concrete! This course location is out in the country and I felt far away from the city which was nice but won't make the trip again. Oh and no water coolers along the way! Had to stop at the "clubhouse" after the front 9 to get a cup of water.

The weather was beautiful and being surrounded by the wetlands and the gulf was very tranquil. The greens were pretty well maintained but the tee boxes and fairways were some of the worst I have played on. I know it is March but I have played lots of courses on GolfNow in recent weeks and this was the first one I would not return to. I guess it was worth the $20 to play but not worth the drive from Houston.

I played this course a few months ago and am really glad I went back. Great staff and the course is very well maintained. Some fantastic holes with one par 4 that big hitters can stick off the tee thanks to an elevated tee box. I feel very far away from everything when I am on this course.

I called ahead and told them I had made a reservation with GolfNow and was there any way I could get out earlier because I had a meeting pop up unexpectedly. They said no problem at all. I got there and it was another story. They gave me a really hard time. Thank God I remembered the guy's name I talked to on the phone so they let me go out. He was the manager by the way. Course was OK, some fun holes but the fairways have lots of bald spots. The greens were in fair shape. Would have given 4 stars if I hadn't encountered the problems in the Pro-Shop even though I had called ahead. Worth the GolfNow price but NOT the regular Greens Fees.

Probably wouldn't have played this course if I hadn't found it on Golfnow. As the guy in the pro-shop said to me, "Get ready to play one of the hardest courses in Texas."
With beautiful fairways and greens that roll for days, this course is a "must play" and is well worth the drive.
and by the way, the guy in the pro-shop was right!

Loved this course, would have been 5 stars if the greens were a little quicker. They are, however, in great shape. Fantastic views off the tee box. Blind shots can be tricky and add a challenge to the course. Par 5's are actual par 5's......lengthy! Overall a fantastic course that you might have to play a couple of times before you know the layout.

What a fantastic course! Gorgeous views from the tee with tons of rolling hills and fairway bunkers. Lots of elevations and the greens roll true! One of the best I have played in the City.

Great golf course with lots of fun off the tees. Have to play smart to lay up or carry bunkers on a few holes. Challenging but not frustrating for a beginner or experienced golfer. Would have given 5 stars but the greens are a little tired. They told me they have been dumping money into the course for some time now. A friend told me that the greens were TERRIBLE about a year ago so they truly have been fixing the course up! Looking forward to playing again!
