If you are not a straight hitter off of the tee box there are several holes that will allow you to play out of the adjoining fairways. or out of the sparse tree lines. The greens were in fantastic shape & probably the most challenging part of the course. They are generous in size, but have many varying breaks & roll very well. All of that said, a windy day & a weak putting stroke can make for a challenging round at this fairly forgiving layout. I'd definitely play it again, but there are certainly equal & better courses in the area that can be had at a lesser price.

If you can "steal a rate" online through any of the known golf apps, then by all means, give it a try. I was lucky to find a $14 online rate & wanted to give the course another shot. Unfortunately, I was left with the same impression from previous experiences. The greens were pretty rough & riddled with weeds & crab grass (as compared to the rest of the course).. All of that said,, I definitely got my money's worth, but would not recommend spending over $20, especially if you are used to better overall playing surfaces.

Depending on what Tee's you play from, this course can be very challenging. Sloping & tight greens with great roll, some long par 4 holes (especially from the black/blue tees), & plenty of opportunities to take a penalty. You can find bunkers on most every hole, water hazards & jungle like grass that borders most of the holes. The fairways and greens are in great shape!

For the money, by far one of the best courses available to the public in all of East Texas. With all the of the rain through the summer, the fairways & greens are in beautiful shape.
