Babe Zaharias Golf Course
Played On 02/07/2023TYpical Florida public course golf
This course is a little short, even from the back (Black) tees, although there are a couple of 400 yard par 4's.
Being a "Yankee" I find that there is little or no actual GRASS on the course. Even where there is green shaggy stuff, it will not support the weight of the ball, so you are basically hitting all of your irons off of dirt. The upside is that balls tend to roll out further, and if you choose to do so, you can putt from ten feet off the green, and the ball will travel just about as far as if you were putting from the putting surface up North. There is no reason to try to hit short chip shots off this hard dirt; just putt it.

Played On 02/18/2022Good practice course
With eight legitimate par 4's, this was a fun course to practice. Very little water in play but lots of bunkers (which were in good shape, IMO). It was well worth the time and money.
Nags Head Golf Links
Played On 09/22/2021No fun
With many challenging hole layouts (water, swamp, etc), and very little visible from the tee boxes, the lack of a detailed course map was inexcusable. I suppose it is fun for someone who has played the course many times, but for a first timer (or in my case an ONLY timer), it was near impossible to score well.
The starter admonished us to keep up with the pace of play, but apparently he did not pass the word. We waited ten minutes on every tee box from 9 forward, with NO SIGN of a course ranger.
At $90, it was a steal. And not in a good way.
Thank you for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Nags Head Golf Links.
Rocky Point Golf Course
Played On 02/17/2021Had fun...No significant complaints
After seeing some negative reviews I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. We got off on time and finished in a reasonable 4 hours. The course condition was fine for a heavily-played public course, and it offered a lot of fun challenges staying out of the water. Most of the fairways are wide enough for golfers who spray the ball a bit off the tee. Greens were in OK shape (although people were not good at repairing ball marks on the greens). The only minor negative was that the carts are not in good shape. Seats are torn (all in the same spot?), not well equipped, and apparently their mechanic doesn't know how to adjust the brakes.

Played On 10/10/2018Great Value
This course is pretty much what you want to make of it. Playing from the tips would be a challenge for a single-digit handicap, and I played from the whites, moving back for 2 short par 4's. Condition was very good, and the greens were very nice. I played in the afternoon to take advantage of reduced greens fees, and it was a great value.
El Rio Golf Club
Played On 02/09/2018Good Warmup Venue
This is an easy, short course that gives your middle and short irons a lot of practice. The condition of the course was OK, and all features, including the water hazards, were up to snuff. It was our first time out in several months and was exactly what we were looking for. I used my driver twice, but only on two short par 4's. Considering this is Florida & Winter, it was a very good value and a nice way to spend a couple hours.
Riviera Golf Club
Played On 02/21/2017Good Practice Venue
This was a fun couple of hours. The layout is not terribly challenging and we found the course to be in good conditions. Very slow greens early in our round (1pm), speeding up a bit later on. We finished in just over three hours, with minimal delays (one group invited us to play through). One short par 5, and a couple short par 4's, and the rest was mainly short part 3's. I'm normally a "bogey golfer," and I was able to improve on that by a couple strokes, front and back.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 08/30/2014All good
Course is well laid out and very fair. Condition was excellent. Staff was great and very helpful. Played in 100+ degree heat, but they did everything possible to make it tolerable.
This is a good course for a first timer, as there are few blind greens or hazaeds. With discount this was a great value.
The highlight is driving reward the breathtaking mountain views. It looks like your ball will carry forever. Can't explain it but it is grear.
Hibiscus Golf Club
Played On 02/18/2014Perfect for relaxing round
We found the course perfect for shaking off the cobwebs of snow-induced inactivity. The wide fairways and level terrain allowed us to keep the ball in play almost constantly. The little bit of water is not an issue. Greens were a little bit faster than we were used to, but in near-perfect shape.
Overall, loved it.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are glad you had enjoyed your time at Landings Golf Club, and pride ourselves on delivering the best experience possible.
We hope to see you again soon!
