Arizona Biltmore Golf Club - Estates Course
Played On 07/23/2017Only play if you get a deal
I played this course (adobe) on a GolfNow hot deal of $8, so I can't complain too much about it. But I will start off saying, I wouldn't pay more than $8 to play this course. There's no water on it - a gatorade bucket full of ice is all I saw, once.
The layout is traditional, but so squeezed that I constantly had people hitting off my fairway (and a few holes hit off theirs too) which caused delays. College kids running through sand traps without raking, many blind shots (I hit 3 into water that couldn't be seen), overbooked so I we waited the whole back 9, greens were taken care of, but nothing around them was.... I wouldn't recommend this course.
The only good thing about it is that there are nice houses all over, that might be why they charge $40 to play there normally.

Let me start by saying, my lowest ever score was 77 and I am consistent in the 80s. I golf A LOT in the Phoenix area. This was, by far, the worst course I've played this summer. I like going when the golf is cheap - $15-30, with that being said, I've golfed other courses for $10 that were nicer than this (Legacy). I know a month or so ago it was flooded, but there were still trees lying around the course, I was hitting my 8 iron off of dirt, in the middle of the fairway throughout the whole course. The greens were full of divots, the tee boxes are uneven, and you'll lose a ball 5 feet off of the fairway because of the lack of care for the rough. The nicest hole was the last hole I played, 14, a par 3. Then the dust storm hit and my buddy and I decided to chalk it up because we didn't even want to play the course anymore... That should say something. I wouldn't pay any more than $10 to play here... I paid $23.

Whether you're a beginner or advanced golfer, this course is amazing. It's a resort course and one of the best in Phoenix... It's well taken care of, it's challenging, but at the same time, you have room for err. I love playing here - the deals they have when it gets into $25 with a meal or $10-15 without - amazing and worth it.. GET HERE ASAP.
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 07/31/2016Reminds me of east coast golf
I've played this course 2-3 times now and it seems to get harder every time I play, probably because it's a course that makes you think... Lots of water on Palm Course, total of maybe 10-12 holes with some sort of water on them, ironic because there's no water buckets on course, only fountains... SO BRING WATER. The course is lined with trees, it's open, small greens though... fairly good condition and carts have nice GPS. I'd play here again - but maybe on a hot deal, not a $30+ on a 100 degree summer day.
Desert Canyon Golf Club
Played On 06/26/2016My favorite course
I'm a 28 year old male who's been golfing since I've been 12... But I am not some kind of professional, I have my days I hit high 90s and then I have my days where I'm trying to break 80. Inconsistency at it's finest.
I love Desert Canyon because the front 9 and back 9 give you equally challenging holes. Some holes are wide open on front 9, but then back 9 are narrow as an arrow. Some short and some super long. I play from blues. It's a fun course if you PLAY SMART! GPS in the carts like a TPC course, bag of range balls on grass range for practice prior to round, etc.. Only thing that could be better is the clubhouse only allows you a hot dog instead of full menu at the turn. I love playing here in the summer because it's far enough away that it's not a super crowded course.
Club West Golf Club
Played On 05/29/2015Nice, but desert.
Good course to play - short worded, if you're not on the fairway 90% of the time, you'll have no shot. Other than that, enjoyable.
TPC Scottsdale - The Stadium Course

PGA Experience for the moderate golfer, this course was amazing. GPS built into the carts, great conditions, just amazing all around.
Morgan Hill Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2014Hills on hills
This course - which I played in August of 2014, was awesome when you start, but after, it gets worse and worse. There are nothing but blind shots, straight uphill, straight downhill. So many people take advantage of the deals and the residents must get discounts, because one day it took me 6 hours to play. I wouldn't go here much - but if you want a challenge, might as well.
Sir my name is Patrick Mallory and i am the Director of Golf. Your comment puzzles me. You mention you played in 2014 but you don't know that our entire fleet of carts have GPS. In looking at my reports which post times from our GPS not one round the entire season has been over 5 hours. I am sorry you feel this way about a golf course that is ranked year after year in the top 10 public golf courses and has hosted many local PGA events you would make a statement like this. I thank you for your comment but disagree with the entire statement.
