What an absolute joke, after a 2-1/2 hour front nine with no ranger or player assistant to be found it only got worse. We finally gave up after 14 when it crossed the 5th hour. You have far to many other courses in the area then to put yourself through this.

Where to start, we arrived 35 minutes prior to our 1:10 tee time to be told that we’re on a waiting list for carts and it should be about a half an hour. No problem I said can I get a bucket of range balls to which they answer “we’re out of range balls”.
While standing at the practice green at the first tee a group pulled up at 1:30 with a cart and we asked what time their tee time was and they told us they were a walk up. When I asked the guy in the pro shop how does that happen and he answered that he had a gap in the schedule. Not sure how he had a gap when we’re at 1:45 and his 1:10 has yet to even get a cart!! The group that pulled up were understanding and even gave up the cart and then we waited another 10 minutes before the other two we we’re playing with received a cart. The course itself was in good shape and the greens were nice but with many options in the area I doubt I’ll ever be back!

We booked based on the photo’s showing the holes on the water and unfortunately they were underwhelming. You had a view on your approach and also along a short par 3. Course conditions were ok and expected more for the fees.

The starter was very helpful and extremely friendly.

Let me start by saying the staff and especially the starter was very friendly and helpful.
The course for me was as the title says a bit underwhelming. While hole 16 had a view of the bay on the green and 17 a short par 3 went along the water the rest of it was ok. The fairways were in great shape but the greens were a bit slow and a few of the tee boxes were in rough shape for the price they charge.

First time playing Deer Island and the starter and staff were great and the conditions were even better!
We played it the weekend before it was aerated and the greens we still rolling true.
The only bad part was a 4 and a half hour round. Tee’d off at 10:10 and got back to the clubhouse at 2:45 to make it worse when we went to order food we were told the kitchen was closed.

Still a great course that made you think,with all that water you couldn’t just pull out driver and go.

Course is in great shape until you get to the greens. They are completely burnt out but still rolled true,but fast as could be. Starter was telling us they’re closing for two months to rebuild all the greens. Would have been nice to know ahead of time but otherwise the course was in great shape with amazing practice facilities. We’ll be back when complete.

Great layout and the the greens are in fantastic shape but overall the course needs some work. Most of the fairways are plagued with weeds and a good mowing would do it wonders, a majority of the tee boxes were dirt with patches of weeds. The lack of tree trimming has made a few holes very narrow and made for some interesting shot play.

Ended up playing the National course. We arrived early and with the threat of rain the starter told us we were free to tee of early to try and beat the storm. Even with all the rain we’ve had the fairways were firm and greens rolled true. Great condition and will definitely return to try the International course!

This course is not worth playing. It’s tempting for the low cost but you will spend far more to replace lost golf balls. The fairway is narrow and surrounded by extremely tall grass. An inch off the fairway and your ball is history. Tried to walk thru it and got bitten by bugs and ants. Bunkers are weed pits with no sand. Tee boxes are mostly dirt. Bad experience.

No fairways whatsoever...all weeds, dead grass, dirt, random sand. Tee boxes were mounds of dirt. Every bunker had no sand added to it and grass growing out of it. Their description says they are like Scotland with interesting course layout...well, I’ve never been to Scotland but I highly doubt it’s ANYTHING like it! Odd layout, a lot of blind shots, disgusting lack of care of the facility, dangerous lack of proper cart paths and lack of direction to holes.
Also...staff WAS NOT social distancing or wearing a mask! I did not feel comfortable in that regard at all.
On back 9 the only restroom facility was one port a potty.
I should’ve listened to other reviews but wanted to see for myself...it’s a two golf clubs down . Go elsewhere.

Course is in need of a makeover. Staff friendly but it is what it is....kinda sad.
Extremely slow. Traffic backed up. Couldn't finish 18 holes. Took almost 3 hours to finish 9 holes! Greens in rough shape. Tee boxes bad. Huge gator with his mouth open roaming around.

This course has so much potential but was very bland. If you like a very long course with wide open fairway you'll love this. If you prefer a more interesting course, water, trees, a mix of challenges , you'll be quickly bored.
The starter was very nasty with me. They were NOT busy yet tried to pair my husband and I up with 2 twenty something year old kids. We asked to go out alone and the starter was very rude and abrasive. I asked for our money back and suddenly they resolved the issue. Rude and snobby.
We won't return. We were bored.

Played here many times and it's a decent little executive course at a good value.

Friendly staff, great course . One of my favorite executive courses in Lee county. Cool wildlife sightings too!

Nice par 60 course. Very friendly staff. Pace of play a little slow but it is season in SWFL. Highly recommend trying this course.
