Still Long Islands best kept golf secret, despite airated greens they were quick and fair, pace of play was excellent and the price to play a gem like this is a steal.

Repairs and Covid issues, halfway house closed could not even use bathrooms, however repairs being done in March is more then reasonable. Course was in very good condition for March, and work was ongoing to improve but never effected play. Course is good enough for me to book an outing there later in the year.

Amazing conditions considering November, the greens were in very good shape and rolled true. Some tee boxes are in need of work, that being said they are working on them so I am sure they will be excellent next year. The staff as always were friendly and very helpful, when the halfway house worker had to step away (nature happens) the cart girl found out ran in and got us on to the 10th hole without delay! We will be back!

If I could only play one course, this would be it, because it is like playing 2, down by the water or more towards the mainland, you must have all aspects of your game on to score well, wind challenges, quick greens that roll true, tough rough to reward shots in the fairway and a beautiful finishing hole. This course survived Sandy and while it's clubhouse was devastated, work has begun to replace it, so the only negative is not having a 19th hole on the grounds, great staff also at the clubhouse so there it is, I'll be back next week!

Just got in our round, due to the very slow group ahead of us, the course was in good shape, especially since we had just come out of a recent storm. Tee boxes were a little chewed up, might need to move them more often, and a little crab grass clearing would go a long way. However on the whole a good round on a good day, will be back.

My first time this year back to Willow, and well worth it, apparently doesn't get a lot of play on Sunday afternoons as we practically had it to ourselves, which explains that the 19th hole and the stand at the turn were both closed , but that is the only complaint here and understandable considering the light play. Fairways and rough in good shape, greens rolled quick for a public, and as always not enough ball marks fixed, but for the price on a pubic course, a pleasure, that I will be returning to during the rest of the season!

It has been years since I played Pine Hills, and I am happy I went back. The course is in very good condition with well manicured fairways and rough that is only somewhat punitive. If I have a complaint it would be that I found the greens to just be too slow. I am not suggesting that the course should go to the opposite end of the spectrum, but you had to really hit a 15 footer to get it to the cup, that is just too slow.
The rest of the course is interesting and the layout different with a par of 73!

This simply is one of my favorite courses in the world, why? First it is at times like playing 2 different courses in one round of golf, when near the bay you feel the links inspirations, when out towards the mainland it becomes a challenging Long Island golf course with well placed hills and bunkers that truly test all aspects of your game.
The recent rerouting of the course has provided one of the most challenging finishing holes anywhere on Long Island, a long bending par 5 with water in play to your right on your t shot, then just when you think your safe there is water to the left to make you think about where you want to land number 2. I could go on and on, I will play there as often as possible, the recovery from Hurricane Sandy is truly amazing, hopefully someone gets to work on the clubhouse, but for strictly golf this is truly the place to go in Nassau County.

A beautiful layout of a wonderful course, varied challenges to make it interesting, a very short par 4 that doglegs over high trees making a iron layup mandatory, varied and interesting par 3's. Since my only complaint is that I wish they would number the holes for those of us who don't play it regularly, that is not much of a complaint at all. I look forward to my next round there whenever that will be.

Sadly a Tillinghaust design is out of business, hopefully somebody gets in here, HELLO TOWN OF ISLIP OR SUFFOLK COUNTY, to rescue this place from the wrecking ball.
