About
I am an average golfer that gets out maybe once or twice a week. Progessively getting better but still needs to work on a lot to get where I want to be. I'll play just about anywhere if the price is right. I do like to play a variety of courses.

Olde Homestead Golf Club
Played On 10/22/2015Great course...
Overall, the course was in great shape. Greens were pretty receptive and rolling pretty fast. Definitely made for a challenge. I felt it was a little pricey for a fall round in late October. The only gripe I'd have with the course is with the bunkers. It seemed as if there were a lot of small pebbles in the bunkers. The bunkers, themselves, seemed a tad on the hard side. It was a little difficult to get under the ball. Could be just me, cause I'm used to bunkers where the sand is looser and soft. But overall, the course was quite nice. And getting some warm-up balls and a bottle of water included in the cost of the price was a nice bonus.

This course could be one of the best in the area, and I do empathize COULD. The layout is very challenging and there are some amazing views, but some improvement is desperately needed. I reviewed this course last year about this time and I have not seen any improvement on areas I pointed then. Most of the tee boxes are not level. Some have more undulation than the greens. And the sand traps, they seem more like dirt traps. For near $50 on the weekend, I expect the conditions to be so much better. I've seen better tee boxes and sand traps at a $9 executive course. And you're going to charge me $49 for this? Hey, grounds crew, time to wake up and do some work.
Sugarloaf Golf Club
Played On 09/12/2014An Affordable Gem..
I played Sugarloaf with a buddy of mine and we were thoroughly impressed with the course conditions. It was my first time playing there in a long time. The course was in fantastic shape. Fairways and rough were quite lush and well maintained. The greens were in remarkable shape and were pretty quick. The course proved quite challenging. I definitely enjoyed the round and would like to play there again real soon. I just wish it was closer to my house.
Stone Hedge Country Club
Played On 08/08/2014Challenging course, but does need a litle work
The course itself seemed to be in pretty good shape for it being as dry as it has been lately in NEPA. Greens and fairways we kept up pretty nice. Some much needed updates are needed on this course. They need a complete overhaul of the tee boxes and clean up the bunkers. Most of the tee boxes are crowned or uneven. It's very difficult to find a flat spot to tee off, well that's at least for where they had the tee markers for the day. The bunkers did have a lot of rocks and other stuff in it. I know it's tough to keep in clean and pristene but they could use a little TLC. If i had to pay the normal green fees to play here, I would have felt i was not getting my money's worth. Got the tee time on a hot deal so I can't complain too much. They put all this money into a very nice club house, now it's time to fix those tee boxes and this would be a true gem.
