Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club
Played On 10/17/2018They have their act together
excellent people working here - no one teed off for a bit so they allowed us to start early. Local courses like Oakbridge and WIndy Harbor should take note - makes no sense to not allow such when there's a gap.
Course is pristine - greens fast prob due to lack of rain but in great shape, Tee boxes were perfect.

Played On 10/02/2018sad to see the course slipping
We've been playing here for 16 mos and have gone from hopeful of improvement to not so much.
Every once in awhile the course seems to be on its way back so its been frustrating. I understand there's behind the scenes stuff such as a potential cut down to 12 holes so maybe this is impacting funding of course maintenance.
One reason we put up with lesser conditions is the flexibility of being able to get out early if there's no groups ahead. Today for the first time that got nixed so not sure how much more we'll play here given that perk is gone. There was literally no groups coming for another hour so not understanding logic on that one.
Weeds, bare spots and even rough on some greens. We started giving ourselves a two putt max as if there was aeration. Tee boxes were burnt out or placed on uneven areas where there'd been no tee box before. Ironically they have started raking traps so thumbs up for that.
Too many other fine courses around to deal with this

Burnt out fairways and tee boxes. Some greens decent others had bare spots and weeds. The people who work there are great but I imagine their hands are tied on doing needed upkeep

Played On 07/10/2018Great customer service, v. nice course
I was prepared for harder based on many reviews and for sure course knowledge would've cut 3-4 strokes as I didn't know where to lay up or go for it.
Really great people working there esp Joe the starter who was very accommodating.
A few signs out there would help as several times we had to consult a map to figure out where the next tees were (course winds through a nice neighborhood) but all in all a great experience and we'll be back when the price deals are right

Played On 06/18/2018Fix the greens and it’s a 4-5 Star course
One week later and no improvement - tee boxes, fairways excellent - greens were terrible and bare
Can’t even chip on them expecting normal results
I’m confident these will be fixed but for now it’s not worth playing

Pleasantly surprised to find that the greens were solid - best I’ve seen here in a year - kudos to the crew

Normally impeccable greens were threadbare like a muni. I’m sure the staff will fix matters as they’ve been perfect in the past
I thought it was the rain but a day later Oakbridge was in great shape which was a surprise

Played On 05/24/2018Excellent course but SLOW play
Course is in tip top shape - kudos to those maintaining it ! For the first time ever we passed on the HotDeals to see how the other half lived - hoped for a nice quick round as opposed to being herded into GolfNow foursomes - those while cheap had resulted in 4 hour rounds.
Went as hoped for 9 holes in 90 min - played well as a result. Back 9 not so much and we slowed down so much the round ended up at .... yep! 4 hours.
The best we've managed timewise at Windy Harbor is to go when the weather is iffy

Played On 05/08/2018Very Nice but nice and slow
Conditions are great but Hard for me to separate out the pace of play. I’m not wired for 4+ hour rounds anymore when I’ve been spoiled with an average of 3. Was hard to get in a rythem as a result. If that doesn’t bother you and you’re prepared for a slow round then windy harbor is great. It’s also possible that if you play not using golf now then you’ll fare much better. When using GolfNow they lump you all together ensuring a foursome

Played On 12/05/2017Great course but pretty full
I have mixed feelings - these are by far the nicest course conditions I've played in Florida. Sweet, fair greens and fairways although the layout isn't very interesting.
The negative is that as others noted - if you landed a HotDeal you're not as welcomed. You're going to be grouped with others who made that deal and expect a slow 4 hour round.
Thats lessening my rating a bit on an otherwise great golfing experience

Played On 11/16/2017great people, improving course
It pains me that the course will be chopped to 12 holes in a year or so - I want to play 18 and if they allowed a replay of 6 more holes that'd slow down play for sure.
I'd rather play 18 of medium quality that 12 pristine holes.
As for today the course is looking decent - couple rough greens on the back nine and some Tee boxes could use some love but the price and pace are right.
The employees are the best you'll find anywhere adding to a pleasant outing

Played On 11/06/2017Slow time at Jax Beach GC
Dunno if it’s that fall is now here but never expected Monday golf to be so busy. Seemed to be two sometimes three groups on each hole.
I appreciate a muni course and willingly deal with less than pristine conditions (although they are improving here) but I can’t deal with 5 hour golf when there are other options around at under 3.

been playing here 4 months now and the course has improved - rough no longer crazy deep and fairways are acceptable
Staff is incredible as are the beer girls. Some 150 yd posts would be great.

Happy to see the traps have been raked recently and if possible I'd give them 3 1/2 stars.
Still storm damage visible but a deal at under $20 and its usually a quick 18 - though not today as there was a shotgun tourney clogging things up
The Oak Bridge Club
Played On 08/31/2017mixed - mostly good
Greens were aerated so our round was cheaper than the usual price. After a foursome waived us through the pace was a nice 3 1/2 hours.
The course from tees, fairways and greens is very nice.
My only complaint is that both times we've played here the traps were awful - so bad we considered taking drops. They just need sand and a good raking - the cost of maintaining them can't be that much.
Fix the traps and its a 4 star course
We are glad that you noticed the course improvements and thank you for the honest feedback!
