Course is in great shape

The course played quite nicely today, fairways have a good amount of roll, green complexes looking good.

Stellar course, ESPECIALLY for the price!

Portland Parks and Recreation operates five courses in the area and Heron Lakes Great Blue is easily the best. Challenging, beautiful, and fun. Worth every penny compared to public courses in other US cities.

Nice muni, good conditions

Purchased a "Hot Deal" for this course, which they tend to offer once or twice per day. Very relaxed, medium pace, seems like lots of people live in the neighborhood and just play nine.

A stellar golf course in rural Nebraska

Possibly the closest thing you'll find to renowned Sand Hills that is accessible to the public, this course is a gem in the town of Gothenburg. Rugged cavern-like bunkers, fast undulating greens, rough topography, manicured fairways. Be careful if you venture far from those fairways though--sagebrush and tall grass await. The course is a great example of why tracks built on sand are so often successful: good drainage (which minimizes water usage) and firm/fast turf. No wonder most golf courses aerate with sand.

Very fun, accessible course

A fun course that is an awesome deal for the price and is suitable for just about any golfer. Nice greens, though difficult around them. Two par 5's to start which is not my favorite but you settle in eventually. Certainly worth the drive from downtown A2.
